Rear view on 2006 Exige?

I'd like to get an idea on what the rear view from the central mirror is like on the 2006 Exige. How would you rate it on a scale from 0 (no rear view) to 10 (same as an Elise)?
Thanks

you learn not to use it and tweak the side mirrors.

I put on a Sector111 micro mirror. It does help at night and while backing up, but not much. The stock mirror gets in the way especially at lights. It is way too big.

2nd, and your eyes (at least mine) focus on the mesh instead of whats behind you.

Get a backup camera or just use the side mirrors.

I can tell if someone is riding my ass, but otherwise I use the side mirrors to look "over" the car and see behind since you can see over the wheel arches in the back.

This gives a good idea of what you can see. I also use those square mirrors to see beside me....thats the biggest blind spot, all the people who sit next to you and stare.

I have an 06, and actually find it useful when backing out of parking spots. You can see whether a car is coming, which you can't do with the side mirrors when backing out. You have to turn your head and actually look back through the mesh to do so though...
I'd give it a 4.
Cheers,
Skottoman

I have an 07, and I angle my mirrors in more than I would normally so they overlap behind me closer. Just means I have to move my head forward to check my blindspots.

I removed my rear view mirror (06 Exige) and put in an Alpine rear camera hooked to a 7" flip out Pioneer AVIC-N3 head unit. It completely eliminates the blind spots in the car while driving, and does an excellent job as a replacement rear view mirror. Just spliced the power to the ignition rather than the backup lights to keep it always-on.

It also makes the driving experience that much better without the big ass mirror blocking a giant portion of the windshield. This is completely legal in Washington state, but be sure to check your own state's laws before considering removing the rear view mirror.

A backup camera is a good solution.

Owned an 06 Exige, now an 07 Exige S. The 06's rear view is positively panoramic by comparison.

Have a rear view camera on the 07, if I were to do an 06 over again would do the same. It's not a substitute for a rear view mirror when driving down the road. Depth is different, and it's a 130 degree view. But it is good for seeing what is in your blind spots and directly behind, if not actually giving you a good sense of how far behind.

For sure, you can see your engine caught fire. I took it out in the second day and replace it with Sony rear view camera.

Make sure don't go for camera with wide angle (below 90 is better), nor if, nor AWB.

You can use it a bit for road use. Definitely better than the Exige S view lol
