GG, I'm seeing a dichotomy between that Avatar booty and the McLaren...... Wars, Stepneygate, $100 million in fines occurred over less!
Seriously though, you've got something going there for sure. We're in fact working out a similar paint scheme for a Stohr DSR chassis. It's inspiring to say the least and we can appreciate your direction.

You might like to have a look at this
Engine performance tuning comparison - Dyno-Plot You can see the cams allow the engine to keep on pulling at the top end (look at both curves are up over 7250rpm). The cams are like the A3 Toda items but are commissioned by Maidstone Sports Cars in the UK by a local company and are beautiful - Clockwise in the UK do these http://www.clockwisemotion.co.uk/ima...-camshafts.jpg You do not notice any change to the engine at all - still silky smooth at tickover! ![]() |

Silicone couplers on the exhaust of a forced induction car? Isn't that asking for trouble with the high temps that the exhaust will be or is that just a temporary solution?
BTW, have you thought of using T-Bolt clamps instead of the worm gear clamps to keep the couplers from popping off under boost? Or even something like this? ![]() |

![]() How do you think the aluminum will hold up with the high temps? Those are like 50 bucks a pop aren't they? Ive heard it makes things UBER easy to remove with one of them though. Last edited by blairellis : 12-19-2008 at 09:12 PM. |

the issue was one of the driver selecting 1st at 100+ Mph (in place of 3rd), the shock of this broke the bearing carrier in the intermediate shaft, this in turn let the tripod flap round untill the stafts moved appart and the centre of the tripod broke loose and went though the oil filter.... |

I machined the wing mounts myself. It's not complicated and I'd be happy to make another set for you, (total machining time is less than 1 hour). Black anodized I presume? I may need a template from you, the CFS1 hasn't made it back to Wisconsin just yet. The expensive pieces were the 'surfboards' that we CNC'd and anodized. They were the aluminum pieces that bolted to the rear clam and created slots for the wing mounts to slide through. If you don't want expensive surfboards, you can accomplish something similar out of .090" aluminum for much cheaper.
On the color issue: We at Prototype Composites feel that black chrome with a whole lot of CARBON FIBER would look pretty good in our collective, most humble opinon. ![]() I'd also like to add that the louvered engine cover and roof that we make introduces an entirely new plateau of evil. What's the story with the other S1? ![]()

Yo Mike-
No surf boards and black anodized would be awesome- just the structural pieces. Love those mounts and Mark has already spent a ridiculous amount of extra time on this car so I am trying to avoid adding to his work load. I can wait until the CFS1 is back at your place or if you want me to send one of the short mounts to give you the geometry then will do... Thanks for all your input.... as you will see it has all been put to good use. Pics of the fuel rail, recirculating bypass valve, completed plumbing on Accusump, more wiring, exhaust etc., Notice the large hole where an axle would go if there was one! |

Shine/S.O.- Mark follows this thread so I am sure he appreciates these comments!
S.O. does your 2002 weigh less than your Elise? What a cool car... bet that thing surprises a lot of people with its performance. Axle problem solved, car is getting tuned this Saturday. Have been looking for street tires for the Speedlines that are on the car and have not had any luck. Via the miracle of the internet, stumbled upon a posting on a Corvette forum and found a cool solution. This is an option that has issues (thin carcass etc.) and is not something that many of you (the smart ones) would be willing to use on the street. That said, there are a lot of Viper and Corvette guys using them on the street and the the guy from Roger Kraus Racing told me that he has sold sets to some LT members. The picture is from the web and as you can see they are hand cut Hoosier r6's. RKR has three patterns or templates that they use and this picture shows "medium" grooving. I ordered them with minimum grooving and will see if there is a picture that can be posted.... Found the pic and forgot to mention that they are DOT tires so technically they are legal from what I have been told from people selling them but do your own research. I would be careful running that Bosch bypass valve in the configuration showed in the photo. I've had problems with the with the diaphram being pushed open by the boost pressure over time......I usually run the pressure side to to the side port on the valve.
