There is a guy with an k20 Atom that has the cams that Jamie is using. He did some head work and has a little octane help but he hit 470 with the c-94 and Charge-cooler. We have hit 400 to the crank with a conservative tune while leaving over 1000 rpm on the table. So we are hoping for 400 to the wheels and will be looking to the 470 number with future mods as funds permit. The charecooler is good for 600 and it has 750 injectors so cams and head work should do the job. The main thing from here will be making it as light as possible and putting in a center-seat, front splitter etc. Using standard K-Pro but this is a very good, cost-effective solution.

What did you use for engine mounts etc.?
I got some help from the german gyus at KOMO-TEC as stadted in my earlier thread. No my car did not have aircon as standard, so it dont have it now either. (i managed to live without before, ill still manage to live without in the future)

Thoose guys are completley awesome to make the drams come true, at a pretty penny, but still, they come true.

Mostly of the mounts and bracets are custom made by the germans. I havent inspected it yet my self, bull will do so when this snow melts.

Awesome! So its all back together huh?! You going to be posting any videos? I'm so glad you went with an Air to Water setup. Are you going to do any temp analysis with that setup at all? I'm interested to see some hard data on how it performs.

no im afraid i havent heard of Tom. Only Armstrong i know of is Tom Armstorng up that campaigns a real corvette grand sport and gt 40 up in seattle.

cool you bought a milano? are you on the BB? there are some nuts on there putting in 3.2-3.7 24V motors in them now. anyhow mine is an older 105 gtv... it been awhile since i had a dedion transaxle gtv. ya the alfa 8c along with the maser, dino, vettes, GTR are searching for that chassis balance that the old school alfetta, milano 924, 928 had...

yea, it my 2nd one and ill almost sold for peanuts before they went up in the last few years.

montreal isnt much of a driver with the big lump up front but they are bellbottom pimp-ass cool as a design statement. looks like a mini-miura and the quad-cam motor makes the right noises.

dont want to hijack this thread any further...

The charge rad. is in the front attached to the main radiator, coolant lines run through the (UK - ie right) driver-side sill.

Glad to hear you are going for the cams - are you sourcing them in the US or going for the special billet items from MSC?

Your car looks very good - I but I know a couple of guys who had issues with those wheels as they tend to shorten the life of the wheel bearings by cooking them!

There never was a cavitation problem with the K20A oil pumps. One person used 'fear, doubt and uncertainty' to promote their solution to a non existent problem, which unfortunately got magazine coverage and then become part of internet folklore, indistinguishable from fact. Oil pump cavitation results in metal pitting from the bubble implosion - which I've even heard mentioned in association with K20 oil pumps. We've also not seen an oil pressure drop on 10,300 rpm dyno runs.
The only comment I'd have is that many people run oil which is too light for the operating oil temperature. 5-30 is great for a street car or drag engine, but not so good for a race engine.

It's lookin good. Great idea to use the zip ties to keep the vtec pins from falling out. Wish I would have thought of that when I did the head gasket on my s2k.

I believe you are confusing Doug with myself. I heard the tuning went ok.

Amazing build.

I have lurked this site for years, but this car finally made me sign up tonight. Is this car still at MD?

Sean Church is the best tuner for the K-series engines. When Hondata was starting it's development of K-Pro, Church Automotive was right next door (thats why he is such a pro with it). I had Sean tune 3 of my K-series cars in the past 4 years, awesome guy and knows his stuff.

If you dont mind me asking...Which Cams have you decided to go with?

Still have to do geo etc after tuning so it will be a little bit. What have you done with your projects? We did not mess with cams but our goal is a good number that will hold up fairly well and I am running out of $

Ryan sounds like you have a lot of experience, if you have any suggestions for us let em rip.
I'm so going to check out this car at MD...its about 1 mile from my house.

I onced owned an RSX-S and was one of the first to run the Greddy Turbo kit(which was the first one out and Jackson was still developing the SC). A lot of people were having problems with their setups at the time. I was just lucky to be deep into the community when all of the new products and setups were coming out for the K-Series. I never messed with the internals on my K20A2, but I was putting down 295WHP 220TQ at 9 PSI. We soon discovered that was the limit for the stock internals as a rod came out to see me one day. I was the first one to run the AEM EMS as engine management and regret it to this day. Too much functionality for what I was doing, but the K-PRO is by far the most user friendly EM I have used to date.

Another RSX-S (My buddy's car), all NA, K-PRO, Headwork, Forged internals,STOCK CAMS, 12:1 Compression (IIRC). 235WHP 194TQ. Church tuned it and was shocked at the results. Sold his car to some noob college kid, with the KPRO and built motor still in the car, the kid still doesn't understand why vtec kicks in so low and never even put a cold air intake on it....damn shame.

I currently own an 04 STI and my budddy an EVO 9. too many mods, but just too much fun. My next car will be an Elise or a Catterham/Birkin. I just cant wait for prices to drop when the Evora gets out and popular. I miss the K-series....such a strong engine with so much potential.

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled drooling over your car.
