good lord! must be an animal from 4K and up.
I'm just surprised at all the supercharged cars lack of torque down low. I thought SCs provided relatively flat torque curves. Must be because of the highly tuned cars I'm seeing.

Did you have the cams in the engine? These are the same cams which we found make less power than stock: dynocharts06_09civicsi

It is a centrifugal supercharger - basically a belt driven compressor out of a turbocharger. The output is a square of the speed. You're probably thinking about a positive displacement supercharger, which has a more linear output.

i have not seen an exige/elise with a north/south engine placement.other than the z cars hyabusa bike engine elise.witch im not a fan off.i thought that if you did do a north/south engine you would need to modify the firewall.the west car is a very fast machine.i have only driven them in the pits.cant imagine how fast they would be.the vids dont do it justice.pull close to 4 gs in the corners.one of my ideas for the exige/elise would be a full tunnel floor.the only deal breaker for it would be the rear sub frame lower rail.the one that the under try bolts to.if that was not there.you could put some pretty big tunnels on one of these cars.i would build a complete floor from the shear panel all the way back.the center section of the floor would drop down to create the tunnel.start the ramp aft of the fuel tank.the alms gt2 porsh cars had a similar setup.

At Superlap in 08 Peter's car blitzed everthing, but what surprised me is that Mark Berrys R32 GTR that finished second is a animal of a car, extremly well setup racecar with over 700hp ... This particular car was sent over to Japan to compete @ Tsukuba Time Attack and placed very well against many factory workshop racecars. Do you have the contact for the K20a conversion for S2 ? Im very keen on this .... Cheers |

i have not seen these cars before.never searched for them.the red car looks like a sports racer.there are a few companies in the uk building this type of sports racer.the big plate that the trans bolts to.is mounted to the chassis struts coming off the rear bulkhead.if that could be done in a lotus.you could build some very effective tunnels.the a arms need to come all the way into and mount to the gearbox.like the red car has.if you look at the sub frame for the green s1.the a arms are still outboard like the stock lotus would be.also has cross bars down low that would block the tunnels.i think the v6 would fit better.being 1 cylinder shorter than a 4 cylinder engine.on the west car.the rear spar.the machined aluminum part that the rear arms mount to.is a replicated hewland from a formula ford.it has all the same a arm pick up points.there are no gears in it.just the chain driven diff.the bike motor has the gearbox in it.i will search for some of these cars you mentioned to see what they have done.

the use of the hewland and formula car style a arms would make room for some pretty good tunnels.if you have seen what an atlantic or champ car uses for tunnels.that is what i thought would be cool on a lotus.so at the rear bulkhead that is where the tunnel would start to ramp up.then your lower a arm would be in the tunnels(most formula cars use a streamline shaped tube).if you could pull this off.the car would have huge down force with low drag.this idea is a bit of a pipe dream but would be really cool if you could afford to do it.

![]() Your car is THE $HIT! I have always wanted an S1. They are THE REAL cars. In fact my exhaust tips that come straight out the back were designed to be a tribute to THE original. Your car must be AMAZING to drive..I originally bought my car from Mark Starr. Do you have any idea where is he now?? Wasn't Hunting Ridge was one of the first high end dealers to go out on the east coast? Two shots of my car in its latest configuration.. |

It's not quite 100% yet but it looks as if the car is going to a Lotustalker that lives in the mountains north of Santa Cruz, Ca. If you have never been there(Boulder Creek) it is an absolutley gorgeous place to live. A virtual paradise until we get a severe pacific winter storm in wich case you had better have a generator and a good store of food on hand. I would give my left one to live there though. Falling redwood trees are not an uncomon occurence there ![]() Did you get your car directly from Mark or from the guy that bought it from him? I knew he had the car for track events when I got mine and lusted after it then. In California that car would be a headache to get on the road legally. I'm guessing that the car is fine for the street in Florida though. |
