well, the lambo rarely ever comes out of the garage. i get paranoid to leave it alone when im in a restoront. so the idea of having a low cost exotic was the idea all along. but you see, i dont know much about the exige, thus i ask as much as i can about the car, even if it is obvious. but dont steriotype, im not made of money.

OP advice........There aren't many on this board that have a problem answering honest questions, it really is a great place to learn. However, I think people get a bit irked when the smell a tall story. This isn't World of Warcraft or Myspace, better in the long run if you just be yourself here.
.....also as a public service to those dumb a$$, low life, Lotus owners that can only read proper English, I've translated your last post. Although I gave up with the grammar. Hope you don't mind. Quote:

Not that I care. I think it's awesome if your dad has a murci... I just don't believe you can own a lambo/lotus and worry about things like 10cents per gallon difference in gas or how much an oil change costs... |

My dad told me the night I graduated from High School: "Son, we love you dearly, but you have to stop thinking of yourself as living here now. You can come home on holidays, and live here while you work over the summer to pay for your next semester...but you don't live here anymore." I learned right then that what I thought were 'our' toys were indeed HIS toys...I had yet to earn mine. |

lmao xD close enough. still, this thread isnt about the lambo. ill still post a pic later if u like, but anyway, what brand all season tires are best for an exige? because most likely i will get cought in the rain quite a bit. the lambo may be his, but the lotus will be mine. especially since it all comes out of my money. xD

So how hard is it to maintain an Exige?
...it's really, really hard...

So how hard is it to maintain an Exige?
...actually, other than fragility and the prohibitive expenses of collision repair, regular maintenance and daily driveability are both perfectly manageable by any determined individual of modest means...

how much are we talking for a fender bender? ill probibally drive it just about every day. personally i love the very bare, minimum, no nonesense way that this car is desined. its fantastic. persnally, i dont care much about how fast and stuff it goes. im not a racer or anything. i just love the car for what it is. the preformace is just a bonus for me =D personally, i have next to no complaints about the exige. i could see myself using it as a daily driver.

An Exige or Elise will be either expensive to maintain OR difficult to maintain. In other words, you're either going to be doing everything yourself or paying large shop rates to a dealership.

well, my family has aways maintained most of the ruteen maintanence like oil changes and stuff ourselves, so hopefully it wont be that much of a problem. and posting from a phone is actually a hassle. so grammer nazi's will just have to deal with it. sorry. this phone isnt the best for typing. it screws up quite a bit. you'll have to forgive me.

...that's just it - there are no 'fender benders' in this car...
...clam damage is so expensive to repair that, unless you're sitting on a pile of money, i cannot in good conscience recommend it as a daily driver to anyone under twenty-five: the odds are overwhelmingly stacked against your favor toward experiencing a collision, and at that age adequate insurance coverage is brutally expensive for these cars...

hmm...well, i looked up insurance rates for this car for my age and its about $300 a month (give or take) so im sure an accedent would sky rocket that cost. hmm...has anyone else here on this forum had an exige in my age group? if so, maybe they could give a little insite on he cost...so its really that hard to fix huh...ill have to think about this. its true at my age accedents are much more likely. so u have a very valid point. as safe of a driver as i am, im not immune to an accedent.

$300 a month?!?! most of us are barely breaking $1000 for a year.
Man everyone owns a lambo now-a-days... Some guy my age from a local car scene just got a lambo... then TT'd it. WAY to much money in the market now-a-days... and not flowing into my pockets! ![]() |

I don't understand this, anymore. You say you love the design of the car, it's visual appeal, and you have no issues with affording the purchase and maintenance of it. So get it, then. As long as it's not an outright Ford Pinto turd, who cares about the ancillary costs for fuel, tires, etc.? If you have genuine love of the car, none of that will matter.
I had no clue whatsoever what kind of maintenance was involved when I bought my Lotus and only read up on it after I took her home. |
