Steering Rack, how serious?

I think my steering rack is going out. It has a slight clicking on occasion and vague loose feel. It is still under warranty, but I don't live close to a dealer. If I can't get to the dealer in the immediate future, is this a condition I need to worry about? Thanks.

Rob

The bolts that hold in the rack are near your feet. Torque them up as a first step.

Steering Rack

Thanks, Holmes. Any idea what the torque values are for those?

You need to read this thread before you draw any conclusion that you may have a steering rack problem:
Little clunks in steering - NOT the steering rack thread

There are a lot of torques you need to check. You really should download the Lotus service manual (there is a thread on this). It is just $25.

Post 24 and 39 in the above referenced thread has the front suspension torques and the steering rack mount torques.
