Tanked a possum! Need new front splitter/spoiler

So the first week I had my Exige I went for a drive on some backroads in the evening hours. On a down hill curve i ended up hitting a possum and cracking my front splitter. The damage is very minimal as I actually have to point it out to people, but I would like to replace it. My question is, what do i replace it with? The stock piece looks pretty nice in Persian Blue but I have also been drooling over the CF splitters on Sector 111's website. They have three options that I have looked at and I would like to know what people have used and what worked/didn't work between the ReVerie Splitter/Spoiler, the Reverie OE Style Exige Spoiler, and the Exige Carbon Fiber Front Spoiler. I'll also take any additional recommendations that you may have.

thanks,

Josh

As splitter and diffuser are most likely components to take damage, whether by possum or curbing (street or track) or digging into dirt driving off track to avoid another car, doesn't seem like the ideal components to have as carbon fiber unless you don't mind the cost of replacing every so often. Also these components are down low, so not as important to reduce weight to reduce Cg as say the roof or wing. So splitter and diffuser made from metal, wood, and/or fiberglass seem more sensible. Note that even F1 uses wood for sacrificial legality plank. Allocate your carbon fiber dollars for roof, hatch, and wing.

yeah, I would consider the splitter on the exige a consumable part and if the damage is minor just leave it on until you damage it worse (it will happen) then lather, rinse and repeat -- now, if you're flush with cash any of those CF options will work, look cool and kill raccoons and possums just as effectively

Not to be rude...

but why is my question being moved to a place where it is less likely to be viewed? It is general in nature and had i wanted to ask it in the Interior/Exterior area I would have. I don't see how my question is any different than the rest of them.

Tom - Thank you for your opinion but I'm really looking at this from an asthetics point of view. I don't mind the expense of the CF replacement for this vehicle. What I'm really looking for is opinions from those that have used the parts that I am looking at.

JK

If you're doing this for looks, anything that looks good to you is ok.

If you want more downforce, the Reverie is the way to go. Almost everything else is for show.

Your question is very specific. If you'd like, I'll move to the 'Exige' category.

I tanked a possum in my new Subaru the other day. No damage though. There were three possums all lined up one after the other. I only managed to get one. There must be something about this time of year because I've seen a record number of dead possums.

Go with the stock piece.

Somethings got to give.

JK,

I agree with the CG comments in fact a lighter component below your current CG can ever raise it making it worse after all this is spung weight we are taking about.

I'd suggest keeping it the same material for another reason. Making it too rigid can cause other body components to fail during a similar impact and they may be a lot more expensive and noticable.
