I would pay no more than low 40's for a N/A exige.

Pink, light blue - what's the difference
![]() That was the "deal of the century" that will be brought up time and time again. Good luck finding another new $43k Exige regardless of the color. That said I'd pay up to $40k for a car with cloth seats, roll up windows and evidence that it has been tracked. Obviously, I'd want some info if it was HPDE or otherwise (rode hard and put up wet?). From the pics, I'd say the paint needs some attention and some of the starshield looks to have some pits on the lower nose. Good luck and let us know if you buy the car. Matt

Exige? SEXIGE!
|
this is not a new Exige. its probably worth around low 40s like other says. Its got some nice extras, but I agree the paint will need some detailing. Other Exiges have sold (or are for sale) around 42k so that would be a good reference point. unfortunately, there aren't any of the right color near me.

What was the invoice on that car? I am totally out of touch with the invoice on the NA Exige. That car was offered to me at invoice back in May as a starting point. I'm just trying to guage the deal of the century, thanks.
Actually, what was the MSRP? That will give me a good idea of the invoice.

RTH3 deal of the century is really going to put a damper on the used EXIGE market.
Everyone is basing their prices off that. And really why shouldnt they? The dealers and consumers decide what the market value is for these cars. As soon as that dealer let that car go for that price. All used Exiges took a hit.

They shouldn't base their price off of that one car because it's an anomaly. I paid way under market for my used Exige in January and people were still asking and getting thousands more than I paid for mine. If your theory is true, as soon as I bought my car, Exiges should have all been priced accordingly. I don't think I'll subtract any huge amount from the price of my car when I sell just because one car was sold low- or even because I got a "smoking deal." I think the majority of Exige owners feel that way as well... Are you suggesting that used N/A exiges are now worth high 30's? If that's the case then the ripple effect should put '06 elises in the low to mid 30's and the '05's in the mid to high $20's. I may be wrong but I just don't think we are there yet. Matt

For the right car in the right color a buyer would pay what you want to get exactly what they want. I had a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT that I bought for 36.5K fully loaded. 1 year and 12K miles later I sold the car for 34K when most were selling for around 30-32K. I got what I was asking because the guy wanted exactly what I had. If anything put a damper on the Exige market it was consumer confidence and the overall economy. These are toys for the upper middle class and people stop buying toys when they fear a worsening economy.

I dont see the use., Why not buy brand new the way he wants it for $2500 more. Unless they stopped making them or if it was a limitied edition. Then i could understand. But usually when you buy a new car. Depending on the car you lose at least 4-5k as soon as you drive it off the lot.

FYI, the auction ended at 38,100 with the reserve not being met. There were three active bidders towards the end, but the highest bidder didn't hit the reserve and the other two bidders did not challenge the 38,100. I was one of the active bidders, but couldn't bid any more without seeing better photos of the car. or getting an explanation of the car's history.
Maybe market, maybe not - the price could have been a product of missing information. |

I would value it, very roughly, at about $125,000. Red wheels could easily double that figure.
