Why is no one commenting on this one-off sport exige racer? Lets forget that first pic posted in this hread and focus on this one. Gorgeous.

Lotus made the car 'special' for an Asian buyer.
I believe he paid $185,000. The car was fitted
with a 400 hp - V6 GM engine.

I would have guessed more than $185k. Was this data published anywhere?

Not sure about it's go numbers, but as for stopping, remember that braking ability is predominately determined by the downforce and the tires. The quality of the brake hardware just determines how many times in a row you can do it before fade. And I'll bet this car stops like hitting a brick wall. Repeatedly.

Interesting, I did not know that (the downforce part). I figured breaking was more a factor of car's weight, then it's breaking hardware, then it's tires. If anything I should have thought weight, tires, then breaking hardware. :P but hey, i learned something new

Your last sentence made me laugh out loud.

Ah, it's a lot more complicated than what I put across, but the big deal is really the tires and how much grip that they have. If your tiny brakes will lock up the wheels, then that's all you're gonna get in a one-stop situation.

I figured it was more complicated. That's why I started researching it. For some reason, although it makes sense, I had never really been party to a breaking discussion that mentioned downforce.

Most of us never get to drive a car that makes enough downforce for it to matter. But the F1 guys have to let up off the brakes gradually as they slow down since the downforce and extra grip goes away the lower their speed gets.

I've seen this before.. That's nasty!!! eww.. Looks more show inspired than track.. and any lotus that is show inspired is nasty in my book.. who buys a lotus to have it "blinged out" for show use?.. besides these photos seem popular on import, mainly honda forums.. they praise it..

There are two separate lotus designs in this thread. The pictures at the very beginning of this thread are entirely separate from the pictures here:
