the stock Lotus sc elie and exige S , do we know what kind of header they are using ? I am not much cncenred about gaining a few ponnies with a header but i am concerned about temperatures that a S/C kit will create such a kit to my engine. so if stock elise/exigespercharged models are using the same exhaust system(header, cat, exhaust) then i am fine with my setup. if anyone knows about that please let us know.

p.s. If i was leaving in the US i would meet charlieX for sure and would tune my car with headers etc. but since tune via e-mail is never a goo option...please let us know if anyone knows anything about the point i am asking..thank you

P.s2 besides what do you need the headers when the new kit with intercooler is available ? get ur extra ponnies from there !!!

stock 240 vs with header/sport cat, the smooth one is the stock car.

Sinclaries in london had tested this cat before and reported the data back to magnaflow, with test pipe, cat and sport cat.

funS11, AFR's are a little lean the elise/exige race cars run at around 13.5 but they have a supply of engines !
if thats a sniffer its probably ok, if its off a bung precat then its off. its hard to make out but if the cat isn't doing what it ought to, it'll introduce a wobble in the run as the pressure builds/releases.

what did Sinclaire find out about the difference between sport cat & test pipe. I actually talked to Andy this morning, I would have asked him if I had seen your post earlier. I was under the impression from Jim, that the difference between his sport cat & test pipe are a couple HP. I'm talking to Sinclaire to have Jim hook me up with his interchangeable sport cat/test pipe piece instead of the sport cat.

About 15HP and a smooth dyno vs a wobbly one, which pretty much sums up that last dyno sheet on the S240.

Sorry to sidetrack but I have a question Charlie. Does tripoints dynapack run higher or lower numbers compared to L.A.P.D's dynojet? I think blake's car posted some monster numbers with his header on a dynapack. Was he using a sports cat or test pipe? I believe you've used both dynos extensively. Thanks

oh the red curve is the stock car? The wobblie curve is the new header & sport cat WITHOUT tuning??

That was a custom tune on a dynojet in orange county, dyno to dyno comparisons are not really that useful, we use them as difference tool from run to run, not dyno to dyno.

I forget which hardware he has, if he was running the same sport cat, you'd see the wobble factor, it'd look even worse on a dynapack.

The smooth one is the factory car, the wobbly is the one before tuning , the only change is the header and sport cat (that i'm aware off), i changed it to wider throttle opening but did not tune it for the header, since it just wasn't running the numbers it ought too.

IIRC, he has 2B header & sport cat. Can you post the before & after Blake's dyno if you have it?

CX, so you're saying I'm wobbly. Only after lots of Fat Tire, I'm gettin started right now. Car is running good, dropping a few codes, but I think I know why it didn't measure up. Hope to see you next week while I'm out in Vegas for LCS, can we work on it some more Mon 10/20? If not I'll catch you next time in LA. Our race in Primm on the 25,26 weekend got canceled so I won't be out all week. I am also coming out for SEMA maybe then as well. I'm anxious to see what it will do with good juice.

did your tuning include 100% throttle opening? LOL sorry I'm asking all these questions.

Resurrecting an old thread....

I'm curious, have there been any updates relative to header + sport cat (or de-cat) tunes for SC cars since this post last went up? I know many guys are running EFI's but what about new reflashes with Lotus ECU?

Ran my car on a mustang dyno the other day & the car is running high 13 AFR's on average (with a brief spike above 14) using a sniffer.

I have a BWR SC with everything else essentially stock. The car runs great on the street but am concerned about a lean situation on the track (as I know a couple of guys who've blown engines).

I'm going to have a custom dyno tune within the month & am considering the PPE setup (Header + Sport Cat). Any success stories tuning this combo with the BWR SC & keeping AFR's at or below 13?
