Any SE Michigan Lotus drivers have any experience with Auto Europe's service department? Since its the only Lotus dealership in Michigan I was wondering if they are any good at installing after market items such as this?

I did and this is what he said, "For those of you craving more power, a straight forward upgrade path will allow further gains when used in conjunction with the custom intake and exhaust systems currently under development."

I won't have one of his custom systems that he's currently developing.

I already have an intake, ported throttle body, ported stock header, and exhaust on my car, so I'm interested if they will do a tune for those of us that have already done those mods. Much in the same way that other vendors have done the same.

Looks like you READ my reply above, but you didn't COMPREHEND what I wrote!

I can't help it if you don't make yourself clear

No worries. My guess is that some of the tuning will be "universal" i.e. non-stock exhausts, but optimized for BWR

AutoEurope is one of the best Lotus dealerships in the country. I really miss their thoroughness, attention to detail, and expertise since recently moving. They are truly Lotus addicts that back up their game. They put in countless hours in a Hass turbo install that eventually failed through no fault of their own. They can be pricey, but I wouldn't hesitate sending anything their way.

+1 (at least)

Auto Europe have installed plenty of aftermarket kit on my past track cars and I expect the madness will start at some point with my Exige S. They are experienced and willing to take the time (which can often be a PITA for them) to understand a customers aftermarket "adventures" and to "correct" the mistakes, find or upgrade the missing pieces etc. which are often a feature of this stuff. Obviously I wouldn't expect this to be an issue with Blackwatch or S111's product!

I wouldn't have any hesitation letting the folks at AE install anything on my car. They are truly enthusiasts that will go the extra mile to keep satisfied customers. BTW, are you the Ardent Red I see around Brighton all the time?

+3 And more.

Eric and Tom are gold-plated Grade A in my book. They rescued me on my way to Ottawa for LOG 20 and repaired my (then) Esprit Turbo which had died with a drowned ECU on Livernois Avenue in South Detroit!

I have never been treated better, more honestly, or more fairly by anyone in business -- any business. They didn't know me from Adam, could well have overcharged and under-delivered, but they came through for me and had my car ready for a safe and uneventful drive home at a cost that was about half what I was willing to pay, let alone what I feared I'd have to pay.

My Audi wears one of their plate frames (I don't put anything on the Elise, ever) and I wish I could refer more business their way. My strongest, most unhesitating recommendation!

I was hoping that a custom intake system meant one that significantly cooled the incoming charge.

Bet you don't have one of those.

I don't think anyone discussed installation costs though.

Where is the intercooler question answered ?

The intercooler question was not answered I think. The answer is that the basic kit is not intercooled but another stage (maybe called the Ginzu?) is. I don't know for sure, I have not discussed this with Robert, but he may be looking at what we do for the SCCA ASP kit that is being installed on my car this week, and seeing how we do with the intercooler installation. And so as to not mislead, the intercooler on my car is not going on this week, but it will very soon. There is a well known racecar prep company going to work on it.
