Dumb question: Is it ok for the i/c hose to expand on boost?

I figure this is a dumb question, but I never noticed this before so I though it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Today I installed some rls intercooler tubes and hose techniques hose/clamps for some engine bay pretty. All went well during the install. When I rev the motor the hose entering the i/c (the one after the s/c) inflates a bit. None of the others do this. I never noticed (nor looked for) the stock hose inflating.

Is this normal or do I need to adjust that hose a bit? The hose has a good bit of the tube, and of the i/c. I think it's on as far it needs to go. Could the expanding hose mean there is too much space between the tube and the i/c?

Thx

Havent seen them with boost, but the couplers on my VF kit compress a bit under normal vacuum.

Mine expand and compress. I don't know if it's normal, but I've had no issues.

That's normal with boost and vacuum.

If the hose is expanding that will hurt your throttle response. Get some hard piping and be done with it.

Thanks guys! I won't worry about it too much then.

So maybe these hose techniques hose aren't all that great? They have a good rep. But I swear I don't remember the factory hose doing this.

Thx again!

Hard pipe expands too. Not noticeably, but if you put a good enough micrometer on it you would see it.

Do you have a link? I'd like to see what these look like installed on the Exige.

Thx

Oh I wasn't talking about something specific that exists. I recommend just cutting the section from exhaust piping.
