Other: There are plenty of good aftermarket solutions that I don't consider too expensive. However, other things , such as buying a house, take priority right now.

Also, it's a tought decision between spending money to add forced induction to the Exige (and spending enough to do it properly) or putting the money towards the next toy; an Ariel Atom for example.

I voted "other": No solution currently on the market has CARB approval.

Yup. I'll just have to take my chances, I guess. Kind of waiting for the rumored new solution though

N/A Federal Exiges are going to be very rare.

Stock for me.

I voted 'other' because I have multiple reasons. At first, I considered buying an Exige and getting the Tri-Point kit. But after doing the math, it seemed that buying an Exige S was a better decision financially, in my opinion. This is because of the 3 year factory warranty. I will also retain a higher resale value so I can sell it when they start selling the Exige R .

I also planned on racing the car in NASA Time Trials and SCCA Autox. I wanted to race in a mostly stock car so I didn't have to pay for a lot of modifications to keep up with everyone.

If I do keep the car for more than 3 years, I'm sure there will be kits out for the Exige S at that time. If not, I can always go with the ridiculously fast ForceFed kits or the TriPoint. And I'm sure that TriPoint will have a solution for the 2006/7 ECUs by then.

If I wanted a ridiculously fast car, I would get a 2006 Exige and put a turbo kit on it. But then I would basically have to race in the "unlimited" class of NASA TT and Autox. I can still do that after my warranty expires.

I voted other.

I want a supercharger, but I am holding off for now because:
a) I want a product that is a bit more mature and is long-term reliable, hopefully to include Charlie's work to be able to use just the Lotus ECU (no piggy back). My Elise is my daily commuter car (I don't have an extra car not being used regularly by another family member), so reliability and minimum down time to install and tune (and retune later) is a factor. Also, being able to pass the California emissions tests every two years is important. Hence, if the technician notices that it isn't stock, I need to be able to go back to stock quickly and easily (including the ECU program). And, if I get a tank of bad gas (or a low octane), I want to make sure the ECU solution is smart enough to deal with the problem without damaging the engine.
b) I am being hardnosed with my family about saving money and living within our budget. I am going to be putting four kids through college soon, so managing money carefully is important right now. (I established a supercharger fund on the side that my wife doesn't know about yet, and bleeding a little cash into every month.)
c) I am slowly working on my wife to accept the idea. She doesn't understand why anyone would modify a car at all, and seems to think that I'll just be more likely to kill myself if I added power. On the good side, she has been going through a bad menopause episode the last few years (imagine two years of bad PMS), and it finally seems to have let up for the last few months. She is SO much NICER now.

Other: I'm not a good enough driver yet. I'm not able to fully use my car in its current configuration so I don't think that extra power is going to do me any favors right now. I know firsthand from my Mustang that simply slapping a blower on a car won't make me a faster driver in the corners...

Other: The FF looks like a robust solution, I drove a FF, its awesome. But something like this I would want to install myself (dont want a 3rd party involved in this type of transaction). My understanding is their install docs are incomplete. Unacceptable for such an expensive purchase. I will wait for the company to convince me (or us) they have truely created a mature bolt on solution for these cars.

Besides, staying N/A I get to play underdog. Chasing down folks on the track with only 190hp is worth more bragging points

+1 on both accounts.

It takes discipline NOT to just go pull the trigger on the FF275 and instead invest in an additional piece of real estate etc. On the other 2nd hand a GT3 sure sounds nice right about now.

I am waiting for two things. One, the car currently exceeds my skill level. I want to compete for at least a year in autocross and get some track time under my belt before I consider it. Secondly, I'm waiting for the factory option. I really don't want to get forced into a much higher class in autocross if I go with a non-factory FI kit. I'm currently in ASP and that will allow me to install the factory supercharger/pulley with any intercooler/ecu combination. This combination could make for a very fast Elise to try and compete against those pesky Z06's.

I voted other because I am more interested in a supercharger setup than a turbo. Seems like a better option to me and I like the idea better. Plus it seems like people have had better luck/reliability with the S/C setup as opposed to the Turbo.
