I believe that you will be fine, and of course, it's all under warranty.
Good luck and I believe you will really like the results, as I certainly enjoyed the car I drove today.

I'll be picking her up during lunch. Hope everything is in good working order.

One more thing. Is there a break in period for the supercharger or can I just get on it and go?

AS LONG AS YOUR ENGINE IS ALREADY BROKEN IN, you can just get in and go. There is no break in period for the supercharger.

Peace,

That's great, so you will be abl to rev away. And you will find that it really likes to rev.
Enjoy,

HOLY SH*T i LOVE this car. this supercharger kit is absolutely amazing. i never would have thought it would feel like this.

ive test drove a stock elise SC and it doesnt even compare to the factory upgrade supercharger kit. i know its the same kit and everything is the same but it feels soo much different. 1st gear pull is incredible. 2nd, incredible, 3rd, incredible. especially mid range. passing on the highway in 6th gear, not a problem. getting up to highway speed and then some. definately not a problem. the engine definately sounds louder than it did before. but its a good loud. i like loud cars. oh man. im just speechless.

i had the biggest grin when i left that lot. getting on it and hearing that supercharger whine was the greatest sound in the world. some say a new born is the greatest, were they wrong....

im going to go drive my car now. its nice out, cool, not raining and yeah, just gotta drive. i love it! if youre thinking about getting one, DONT HESITATE, just do it. and, you get the peace of mind that its covered under warranty.

it is definately enough power for me. as of right now. exhaust and intake is coming shortly. just dont know when, but itll make it on my car soon. im so exccited.

Great to hear, I felt the same way you did when driving a Lotus Supercharger kit equipped car. Enjoy,

I am hoping to have it installed in November and am located in San Francisco.
Hearing about your experience makes me want it like yesterday.
Thanks,

So these kits are running around $7k installed? I sure would like to add some new life to my 06 Exige. Being in CA, this is the only real option, as I plan on keeping my car for quite some time...
Cheers,
Skottoman

Mine ('05) is my daily driver. Right now, with my normal driving mix (that includes a good bit of <40MPH commute traffic with stop&go) I am averaging about 24.5MPG.

Do you track your mileage enough to know what effect the SC has had on it?

I went from ~25mpg to ~21mpg when I got the Katana kit... But I don't think it's so much the supercharger, as it is me. Alot more exciting to give it a little more gas from lights, taking on-ramps quickly.. etc.

After break in, as my car only has about 250 miles, I will do my best to not hop on it....too much....., but the power and sound is pretty addictive.

Anyone else out there with the factory SC upgrade to an 05/06 model that can give some feedback on gas mileage impact of the upgrade?

I keep track of my gas mileage in a spreadsheet, I'm anal that way . My car is a very early 2007 (built mid 2006) with DBW. It's not an 05/06, but it should be very similar in terms of mileage.

Before my SC went in, I averaged 23.97 mpg (this includes track driving)
After the SC went in, I average 22.92 mpg (this also includes track driving)

Track mileage went from 14.5 to 11.6mpg

So, I saw a small decrease in daily driving mileage, and a large decrease in track mileage, and a HUGE increase in the stupid grin on my face.

Yes. It's available in both cable and electronic. I just got it installed on my '05 Elise at British Motors in SF. Big improvement. Will have out at Infineon with Trackmasters on Nov. 6 so we'll see how it goes. Should be a big help coming out of turn 2

I can't speak to what the `05 kit might be like, but I would think that it would be more difficult to program the software for an electronic throttle rather than a cabled one, but YMMV.

Cable version works perfectly.

I've seen you post early on about the engines being bullet proof, but there have been some cam failures Code 1302 & 1301 years and miles. How widespread it is, who knows? I read one theory that suggested the oil temperature wasn't high enough before getting on the second cam. Since we don't have oil temperature gauges in our cars (just water temperature) their recommendation was to let the water temperature get into the 180's before hitting it. The good news is I don't believe anyone with an 07' or later has yet to report cam failure. I have an 07' but I haven't had the valve covers removed yet. I probably will at the next service which will be around 15,000 miles for me.

You'll have to tell us what you think of the factory SC and if you think it is worth the money, since WE don't live in California.
If anything it should be easier on the engine as you no longer have to rev the snot out of it to make it go.
