How to remove top back bolt on VF SC flange?? (PIC)

I got it off. Had to remove the unit and use a vice grip to get it started.

Won't fit?

Vice grips, perhaps?

A standard allen wrench definently not. If I cut it down to like 1/4" on the short end it might fit. I just wanted to hear others experience before I "mod" another tool

Can you fit a hex bit in there? Then you might get an open end wrench on the bit...

I didn't use those stupid allen's at that bolt and a few others. Good ol bolts worked alot better although don't have as much bling factor.

Cut down an allen wrench, that worked on a few of the intake manifold bolts I put in.

Ya even a allen bit was too tall to go in there. I think I might have to cut down a 6mm allen so that just like 1/4" of the short end is left.

That sure looks like a place where a hex head bolt would be better. Then an open-end wrench would reach it easily.

Just make sure you have enough of the allen to get down in it. Those bolts strip pretty easy on the inside. At least mine did for the fuel rail.

That's the first thing you have to do when you install a VF kit, get rid of those allen bolts...

+1

the allen bolts are a horrible idea..

use studs/nuts they work..

also use regular bolts on the outlets..
