Looking for the extra "go"
I have a '07 Elise with touring pack. I have the Larini Sports Exhaust System - Sport Style, and a K&N filter but that is it. I have been looking around at different SC's and the Ronin TC but don't have the money to rebuild the engine.
What is the easiest, most effective, yet money friendly way to make the extra power to make this the perfect car. Any ideas on which way to go for the power I'm looking for? |

BWR or Katana superchargers won't require you to rebuild the engine.
You could get the N/A chip with the lower cam-change from Charlie I guess?

I did a search and couldn't find all the answers (may have searched wrong but oh well) so I decided to put it all in one post so it's easier to read. Pro's/Con's for the Katana vs BWR? Also Charlie does both tunes if Im not mistaken right? If someone could throw out a price to see how much Im looking to spend it would be greatly appreciated.

Install a Bullydog PMT. It adds up to 140 HP.

I don't have a supercharger myself, but from my understanding;
The BWR Supercharger ($5,200) can be ordered with an PES ECU tune($400), but works with the CharlieX ECU tune($600). The Katana Supercharger ($4,300) is ordered separately from any tune, and you will have to contact CharlieX for the ECU Tune ($600). Install will probably run you about $1500 at a shop.

Id take you up on the nitrous other than Im not trying to go that route haha, kicked it around for a while and decided its not for me.
Also the Katana and BWR both void warranty no? Is a heavier clutch recommended for both also? |

![]() But yes, it can "void" your warranty if the warranty problem is caused by the addition of the supercharger.

For what its worth, I had a katana and now I upgraded to the VF kit. The difference is night and day. My car is so evil know I had to change to the black Lotus emblems...
Besides if you get a katana/bwr you might eventually want more power and to safely do that you will probably need an intercooler...and then you'll wish you bought the VF in the first place.

As to installation costs, one of the nice things about these two kits is that they are pretty easy for a moderately experienced home mechanic to install.

I just completed the BWR kit w/PES tune, I did it myself with very basic tool set, not bad at all, just for reference I'm a software engineer if that tells you anything... hehe. Very detailed instructions.
