So a coupe of updates, while hooking up the engine electrical harness I did turbophil's split harness mod. You can see across the intake how running the sensors separate of the fuel injectors and deleting the unused circuits really cleaned up around the engine. Thanks Phil!
Hooked up the oil cooler plus lines, fuel lines, the exhaust, and turbo. It's going slow but I hope to have it up and running in less than a month. |

Great project! I'm really looking forward to how this turns out.
I might have to stop by on one of my trips back home to Michigan.

Yeah, I like the idea for the high horsepower application. I even wanted to try to help out take measurements, or fab up some parts to help with the project but Frank really wanted to do it his way. I posted some comments or suggestions to topic, but typically it turned to an argument. Your right though I did copy the idea of using an aluminum plate for the bell housing, it's much smarter than trying to drill and tap into the MR2 one unmodified. |

Have you given any thought to running a trans cooler versus looping the ports as pictured? Those boxes do like to get hot. Would be kind of cool to do one situated by the diffuser, and make a NACA duct/scoop for it.

I'm also skeptical if it's necessary. A M/T can handle allot more heat than an auto and in the past we always used an upper limit of 300-310 deg F on an auto trans in trailer tow's and durability testing. I would like to see how hot the new trans gets in use. |
