I think that would look great if you covered the entire opening with mesh, unfortunately the place the I bought my stuff thru, Customcargrilles.com, only sell it in specific sizes. The biggest sheet they have is 12" x 48"

You would have to get it from someplace that handle larger sheets. I was originally going to go thru this company. McNICHOLS offers a full line of metal and fiberglass products primarily with holes in them. Products include perforated metal, grating, flooring, wire mesh, expanded metal, structural shapes, stair treads, ladder rungs, handrail components, trench dr I never got around to actually contacting them since the other stuff worked for me. They did have a good selection of choose from.

Everything on my car is powedcoated aluminum.

If you need a hand, I could probably swing by or you could take a ride way out to my house and we could mess with it there one weekend, if it it kind of chilly I do have heat in my garage. Either way I think you might want to put some sort of support piece from the front to the rear that has just a slight arch to it to give it a little better look and to stop it front sagging into the engine compartment. Even just maybe some round 1/4" aluminum stock would be good underneath the mesh for support

Email Customcargrilles, they will cut a larger piece if you request it. Your rear engine cover looks like mine. Mine has a clear louvered panel in the center instead of mesh.

Couple pictures of the engine lid frame and the clear panel being cut on a waterjet.

You need to post a pic of the that when it is all put together. I think it will look sharp.

Yeah that does look sharp. I see the gasket around the cutout portion of the lid will that hold the clear panel in place?

The black gasket is just a trim piece. There is a frame that holds the clear panel in the engine lid.

Is the clear panel acrylic or lexan? How would that hold up to heat, especially with a turbo? I had intended something similar on a different turbo car, but it wouldn't handle the heat. Was thinking a mesh would be better suited.

I was going mesh for that reason (Improved air flow). Managing the heat is tuff.

It's acrylic, which has a slightly lower resistance to temperature than Lexan (Lexan@275 vs Acrylic@230). I prefer Lexan, but it scratches very easily. We'll see how it holds up - there is a center carbon fiber shaft that runs the length of the panel for support. Also, the louvers add structure to the panel, stiffens it up quite a bit. I have a LOT of cooling and airflow and don't think it will be a problem, will see though.

wow I love the power distribution block.. who makes that?
