So, uh, not to be a party pooper, but has this product been announced yet?
It's approaching the end of the month again...

Can't see what all the fuss is about here. My Elise has been running around for the last 10k miles with a supercharger and A/A intercooler and over 250 bhp and 185ft/lb. Oh - and without any piggy back - just a cracked Lotus ECU. Check the kit out here Lotus SP-K - nothing new though, just seems people think there is only one way?

Oh I see....so they can sell and ship me an intercooler kit and reflash my ECU tune for my 2006 FED Elise right now? Will it bolt right up to my current supercharger? How much does this kit cost that you have had for so long?

Looking at the site: pls note that these #'s are not on the wheels, so you should deduct xx% to arrive at WHP.

That's not a reasonably priced DIY kit available in the US. That's what the fuss is.

they're on pre sale, so the people that pre ordered and stuff are having em fitted (as far as i know ) remember i just did the tuning.

there are lots of kits available, its no big fuss.

but 250HP, 187ftlbs at the flywheel is less than this one, thats more in the realm of the katana

yep, i just checked they're installing them on the first cars.

And who is getting it installed?

This is the worst marketing plan ever.

There has been a lot of recent chat down under about superchargers. How can I get more information about your kit and costs and are you willing to ship to Australia?
Cheers

Question for Charliex:

I plan to order a SC this week so I can probably not wait for this one. I plan to to with Sectors Katana kit.

I have a 2007 Elise (US).

I plan to send the ECU to you for tuning. What difference can I expect between the stock tune and yours?

Greatful for a quick answer since I plan to order a kit on Tuesday.

Mats

and there are people who know that this product is available from a particular shop and have ordered and are getting the kit installed as we speak, why are the people on this board are the only ones who don't know about it and why are you keeping it a secret from this board members. It hardly seems a like a non-public info... just not informed. I'm not interested in a supercharger kit (at least not yet) but just had to ask given how strange this sounds.

On another note, why is there an MTM advertisement on this board? Strange.

I'm not trying to instigate anything... it just seems like a strange marketing strategy that I can't rationalize, that's all.

On another note, when I was talking to the Lotus USA rep about Ohlins, he mentioned that Charlie is a "real deal." Thought I throw that out there.

I don't think anyone here doubts charlie's credibility/reputation

As I see it it's just not charlie's place to reveal anything he just is doing what he does best - tuning

Charlie has nothing to do with this kit other than tuning it for a company that hired him. Its not his place to reveal anything more about it. If said company wants to reveal it and themselves they will do it.

pretty much, i posted this up mainly as a work log i thought it'd be interesting for other people to see the development of the kit as the others were done more or less on the quiet, had i known it take as long to get to market i might not have done it, but thats the problem with manufacturing, unforseen stuff gets changed and redeveloped which takes time, the kit does have an upgrade path from the current non intercooled kits so its not like there aren't choices.

i usually video and take pictures of all our tuning and build sessions to post up at some point, i diary about them sometimes when i have time (not often) or when the customer allows it.

the first kits being installed are being done under the microscope for any potential issues.

i'm in the process of moving this month , so i'm a bit distracted there.

I hear ya. New product development is always a guess on time lines. The dart board approach is sometimes as good as any estimate is. Moving sucks too. I still have crap in boxes from mine this summer.
