Murix, agree -- I'm really just a Monkey wrencher following procedures and sometimes make up my own ... high IQ not required, nor really any special ability or skills -- it's just a big Lego set.

Now if it's a matter of can't be bothered or don't wanna get dirty or whatever, then sure - hire someone to do it. I've been there plenty of times.

I work on my Lotus for:

1. the love of it
2. nobody does as good a job as I do
3. I like to learn
4. helps me separate fact from fiction

Now I would probably think twice if I were working on a Ferrari or Porsche (lots of special tools and assembly/disassembly required). But this is really just a Toyota in a Lotus chassis with some fiberglass stuck to it -- and that's just fine with me.

I think someone like me would get this job done in a day, someone like Phil in 1 hour, but in either case, it would be done.

Rob.

It's the standard Greddy manifold with one of Waydui's placards. He made/makes several of these sized to fit/dress up that ugly Greddy casting stamp. I was making about 285 crank with the previous setup, so this 280 came my way. He'll have to update that real soon

When Phil's complete upgrade is available, I'm gonna try to tackle it myself... It'll be my 1st "real" project....

I put 100 miles on the TVS today. Out checking the A/F's.

My 7" 2bular with 3" center is sounding real nice. (thanks Fred)

The water temp was 2 degrees lower than normal. Could be the weather.

80 degrees today instead of 90.

I miss the loud SC whine. I have an aftermaket cold air intake and you could really hear the whine before.

Phil's EFI map ran great. Running rich but better safe than sorry.

I have my Redline at 8000 rpm. I don't trust the glass engine / valve-train.

Nice increase in HP and torque. My gps data collection confirms my butt dyno impression.

I may go to the drag strip tomorrow and the dyno for sure next week.

The TVS supercharger doesn't make the whine that the M62 did? It's quieter now?

Jim,

You're welcome. And I bet you didn't think you would need that beefier exhaust! You should put in the Eibach valvesprings. I've never heard of anyone breaking the valve train with those in it.

Hey Jim,

Friggin Sweet! I'm glad you're feeling the power... I'm going to have to crank up the boost just to get to where you are, I'm sure

Darn travel schedule has me away from my baby, otherwise I'd be right there with ya grinning ear to ear...

Cheers,

Phil

No wine anymore... There's a very faint whistle (kind of an exotic sound really) and that's it---- and that's even with a wide open intake system. If you're running the stock box, then I bet you wouldn't detect much if any sound. Sooooo, you had better make sure your exhaust is tuned well for sound, because you'll be hearing what everyone else hears---the music coming from the tail pipes

Don't encourage him He's still running the stock clutch and you're going to have him fry the thing before he has anytime to enjoy the new blower!........ that said, I believe Jim does have an ACT sitting on his work bench so he's ready for such an event

Cheers,

Phil

I installed these last month (after your heads up)

I'm just playing it safe. I definitely have some extra power I can sacrifice with the lower redline.

I may bump it up for the dragstrip.

Can't wait to see some track data for this lovely bit-o-kit. Like I said before, I bet this SC turns up in factory backed Lotus within the next year or two. The lower noise alone is probably a big selling point and the side benefit of lower air charge temps. It certainly does have all the makings of a factory S280 no IC followed by S300 with IC. It's a very cheap and natural progression of the car.

Can't wait to put this on.... I am dying for more power. My BWR is fast, but I have an insatiable disease now. We'll just see what gives first: My wallet, or my motor!

Install is done! I'd be out on the road running right now instead of typing if it hadn't snowed today The kit really is awesome, instructions are easy to understand, and everything went right in place. Upper alternator/snout bracket is almost porn

Loaded the 550cc EFI tune and it fired right up, steady idle, and sounds mean as hell with a throttle blip. Can't wait to get it out for a road test. An absolutely professional job Phil!
