Jesus Jim!

13.10 at 112mph clutch babying it with a 2.66 60 foot? Wow!

Two Sunday's ago I went with my 3.4" Katana and managed to get this (on General UHP extreme summer "street" tires) with very shallow staging and a near perfect launch (3rd gear's still a non-syncro'd beotch though):

60': 1.781
330': 5.270
660': 8.172 @ 86.86 mph
1000': 10.629
1320': 12.697 @ 112.10 mph

That's with me weighing in at 2030 lbs. at the line. Track conditions were 54 degrees, 29.98 pressure, 63% humidity and 800' elevation. I'm running the leg buster ACT XTSS clutch that's rated for 275 ft/lbs.

If you got the same 60' that I did your time would be at LEAST a 12.22 second time (13.100 - (2.660 - 1.781) = 12.221) with a higher trap speed. You're hitting the 8500 rpm 115-116mph wall there...

Can you post your entire timeslip? I'd especially love to see your 1/8 mile trap speed... it really picks up speed in the last 660'...

Do you have a guestimation on what your "track weight" was?

What were the track conditions? (I just looked up Jupiter - Palm Beach International Raceway @ 33478 and saw it was 8' above sea level and the 6pm weather was 73 degrees, 30.02 pressure and 56% humidity. That's just about the same correction factor that I had a couple of week's ago... My 19 degree colder temperature just about balances out your 792 elevation difference...)

What monitoring do you have (A/F, temps?). I'm dying to see what she'll do with our stock 11.5 compression pistons...

Finally... when are you going to dyno her?

Hmmm I wonder what a stock Katana flash would do with the TVS... Hmmm.

darksol based on your slips are you suggesting that Jim should be able to run in the 11s with this new set up. If so that is bloody quick for a street car.

Well you folks are crazy for drag racing these cars I tried this on a stock clutch at only 255 wHP and three runs pretty much killed the clutch and I upgraded to Toda clutch/flywheel.

Before the stock clutch was deemed dead, I was able to pull a 12.2 @ 112. or was it 111, close to that. But my tranny has suffered somewhat from it so haven't wanted to go again -- just want some road course time now (I need it).

Post drag strip, stock clutch started slipping a lot in all gears and I was only at 188 tq.

Rob.

Well it was road test day...
Did some country driving tonight. Need to add a pinch of fuel to the map <4K cause it's a little lean. Going to download the logs and make the adjustments tomorrow. I punched it down a couple of times. The 2nd punch was a transition to 3nd gear and the rear end broke loose...scared the hell out of me. Never had that happen in 3rd gear, tires are almost new. Thought my car had great torque before with 245/160...this is insane power!! I miss the s/c whine too like Jim said, but more than happy to trade for this wickedness

the ACT HD solid disc should be plenty for you, they are very under rated.

You weather report seems accurate.

I data log A/F's I have to look at the data. Around town they are 11.80 or less wide open between 3000 and 8000. I have a fat tune right now.

Dave and Jim,

I would like to see some data logs from your ECUs. Please email them to me when you get a chance. Curious to see the IATs and how the ECU is correcting for the new blower in general. There is built in margin of error in every map based on how the correction tabels are set up.

thanks,
Kris

Check your email... I found that lean cruise hole tonight driving around with the wife as well. I just missed it when building the 550 map--- I mean who drives around like Miss Daisy unless their spouse is with them anyway I asked if she would mind running the laptop during our Sunday night cruise and she agreed My wife rocks

So it should be fixed now and in yours and Jim's inbox as of a few minutes ago...

Cheers,

Phil

Yall have sure sold me!
I would possibly be interested in a group buy discount, although mine would be an upgrade (already have a BWR s/c). This would be the second group buy for me in the past few months!

uprated fuel pump form elise-shop

I don't know this fuel pump is fitted for toyota-engined Elise and Exige.

Uprated Fuelpump (Elise S1, Exige S1, 340R) [FPES1] - 399.00*EUR : Elise-Shop :: Innovative products :: Worldwide delivery :: Fast service

---------------------------------------
Designed specifically to remove the need for a secondary pump and swirlpot when supporting high output engines, This unit is a direct replacement for the standard unit and is 100% compatible, the resistance of the sender unit, all external pipes and connections remain standard, only the sender arm and the two quick connect retainer tabs on the fuel pipe connector spigots need to be swapped over to the new unit. Remember, this is a brand new unit not just a pump and is supported with a 12 month warranty. It is perfect choice for standard engined cars as well as it offers future-proofing against later power upgrades.

Although the unit looks very similar, it is a modern unit and is far superior in design, the unit utilises a educter pump to transfer fuel from the tank to the reservoir can, unlike the old unit that used one section of the pump itself for this task. The pump itself is a vane type and is more efficient than the original centrifugal pump especially at the higher pressures needed for the Honda powered cars. Further, this unit is modular in design and can be fitted with very high output pumps for those wishing to play with 250-450BHP!

The pump will supply at least:
120 lt/hr at 45 psi, and
100 lt/hr at 58 psi

Allowing 15% flow loss, this is sufficient to support up to:

300 BHP for NA Rover engines based on a BSFC of .5, and
260 BHP for NA Honda engines based on a BSFC of .45.

For S/C cars and those over 250bhp a variety of pumps may be fitted into the unit depending upon output, units may be returned to us for modification or can be supplied pre-fitted. please ask for details and prices. When compared to the standard Lotus supplied AC Delco unit these units have the following advantages: -Units are modular and may be fitted with other pumps, ALL of which are superior in design and output and will not suffer from output decay quickly, as do the OE pumps due to their poor seal design.
Units have an advanced educter pump powered by the main pump to transfer fuel. Despite their higher output, the pumps draw less power than the OE pumps, indicating just how inefficient the OE pumps are but more importantly removing any need to uprate the wiring harness. The standard pump is quieter and even Walbro fitted units are quiet due to the superior vibration absorbing suspended pump sleeve design.

Don't take this the wrong way but why would one want to spend $500 US on a lower lph unit rather than just getting one of these Walbro 255 lph pumps for $125?

Somewhat confused?

Rob.

Internal versus external maybe?

I had plumbed an external on my 550 spyder replica and found it just another point of failure for fittings. I took a gasoline bath more than once, and carried a big fire extinguisher with me at all times

I have walbro 255 internal that fits right in place of the stock pump.
