That's my guess at what Dave can do, those aren't my times. I figure I ran a 12.2 @ 112 a year or so ago @ 255 wHP and I'm not that great of a drag racer. So I figure with a better driver and 280-290 wHP and less weight Dave will post one of the 3 times I listed -- just a guess

We've already seen 11.8 I thought? Didn't darksol do 11.8 @ 118? His car is very light, though...

My new and improved clutch is borderline. I should have gotten something
stronger.

Ya, tha ACT HD is barely enough, which is what I have. It seems to hold fine in the first 4 gears, although if I shift hard 4-5 or 5-6, the clutch slips the shift. It will catch and hold, but it does make for a sloppy shift in the taller gears when under full power... I think Darksol's HDSS clutch would have been a better fit...

The good thing about being a one legger with a marginal clutch is that the tranny gets some relief

Someone need a Tilton double-disc set up from DRS to hold that TVS torque?

I just drove the Tilton double disc for the first time a few days ago. The pedal is noticeably stiffer but with still a lot of room for initial slip but one it grabs you know its time to go. I drove it for probably 50mi, some dyno, a lot of city street driving and some freeways too. Maybe only stalled it once or twice just getting used to it but other then that, no problems. Highly recommended.

If I remember correctly Jim ran a 13.165 @ 111.91 mph with his clutch slipping all over the damn place... and a 2.548 second 60' time. Pretty damn impressive!

I need to be able to hit 8700rpm to avoid hitting 5th gear... then I should be able to pull a 11.75 @ 121.3 mph run... If I'm stuck at 8200rpm then I'll run 11.99 @ 114.5 mph. The shift is just at the wrong time...

Here's the shift rpm vs. ET table:

shift rpm / time slip
8000 = 12.10 @ 113.0
8100 = 12.05 @ 113.6
8200 = 11.99 @ 114.5
8300 = 11.93 @ 116.0
8400 = 11.88 @ 118.0
8500 = 11.83 @ 119.9
8600 = 11.79 @ 121.1
8700 = 11.75 @ 121.3 (no shift to 5th)
8800 = 11.72 @ 121.5
8900 = 11.69 @ 121.6
9000 = 11.66 @ 121.7

Yeah the XTSS clutch requires more "pedal power" but it holds everything... so far

Funny thing is Dark's tables are always deadnuts on with drag racing... Craziness!

I'd like to chime in on Dark's future run since I'm probably the guy that's going to have to fix the darn thing when he floats the valves to the moon I say we raise your rev limiter to 8,500 and not a rev more for one or two passes so you can hit 120ish--- but if you cheat me and raise it past 8500 and float the valves (stock head), you're fixing the engine on your own

Yeah... How much?

Interesting note, a Twin Turbo Gallardo from Underground Racing (making 1500+whp) just blew this clutch at private runway... Yikes...

Jim,

What new clutch are you running? I was going to install the ACT XT/SS. I hope it won't be borderline. The XT/SS is supposed to be good for 280ft-pds.

I have the same XT-SS getting installed on my TVS setup (TVS installation is scheduled to start upcoming Mon), i think that s/b OK based on the ACT ft-lbs max. figures.

I guess no one likes the Toda Racing stuff -- but there again, I'm only running a miserable 250 wHP @ 164 TQ, but for what it's worth, when I was running the 2.5" pully @ 188 TQ the clutch didn't slip at all (in any gear) and is very street friendly.

I have the ACT HD

The labor to replace / change is the killer.

Then again, I would rather slip the clutch a little and not bang the tranny.

I had no issues with the clutch slipping while on the road course at my last track event. I'm sure it won't stand up to any drag racing.

We just put 320wtq through one with no problems. I don't think the TVS would do much damage to it.
