There seems to be a decent number of people interested. Now it's just a matter of the price point and actual results.

It will be an expensive mould, price would be in the $600 to $700 arena.

We can do it if enough people commit.

Still way cheaper and a better option for me than a A2W chargecooler due to less complexity and weight. I'd be willing to commit if the design is sound.

Ugh. What about making/selling a kit with the scoops, hose, and the "cones" that connect to the intercooler vent with patterns so that we cut on our own holes? $600 seems REALLY expensive for what it is (I mean, more $ that most would be willing to pay). Either we would have to live without the 3 chambers or figure that out on our own...?

Okay, first prototype will be ready in about a week.

I'm looking for someone with the ability to log flow (vane anemometer) and IAT's, before and after the supplemental flow setup.

If you are interested, PM me with your pitch.

I'm wondering if this can be done with thermoplastic sheeting? Make a mold or buck out of wood and lay a sheet of hi-temp thermoplastic. Heat it up and lay it over the mold.

To make it easier, it would be made in halves and then marry the halves together?

$600 to $700 is A LOT for a fiberglass duct. That's why I stopped pursuing the project with my local fiberglass shop. I thought that this price point would be too high for most people here... Considering that the entire intercooler can be purchased for a few hundred dollars more.

Prototype nearly finished. I'm bonding a couple of panels and the outlets now.

Someone has volunteered to test & datalog, since my "mule" has a different supplemental ducting system.

Here is the ugly duckling prototype. We are ready to build them in carbon fiber. Price will be announced in a new thread, but will be somewhere north of 400 and south of 500.

What does it look like from the inside (or, what will it look like from the inside)?

That photo doesn't show it well, but there are two air guides (in the photo, the carbon fiber portion is the right hand side air guide, the other is not shown).

The two air guides divide the volume into three portions, one for each "input air" source: the roof, and the two side scoops.

It is designed to use 2.5" high temperature air ducting.
