I took my throttle body off and apart even though its probably not a servicable unit. I found a little play in the butterfly so I put tape on the gears to hold it in place. That didn't do it.
So then I started looking around more and found a sheared off bolt head on a bracket from the intake manifold to the engine case. Luckily I was able to back the rest of the bolt out and put a new one in. Fixed my squeaking problem.

Gasket leaks on the intake side will sound like that as well. I would definitely check the TB and TB to Supercharger gaskets for proper seal... The computer will automatically adjust and relearn idle with a minor leak. While you at it you should check to see if the set screws that hold the throttle plate in place haven't come loose as well. (The big round flapper inside the TB)
Edit: DoH@! Once Again I didn't see there was a page 2...

out of luck, the dbw throttle is very expensive (826 bucks).. not serviceable, or meant to be opened.. replacement not serviced..
to check throttle body, switch key on, check with multimeter and remove the hose.. check the plate movement.. I'm doubtfull it's the throttle body.. sounds more like something on the other end of the engine.. the high pitch is normal.. Last edited by choi0706 : 08-19-2009 at 08:09 AM. |
