I wouldn't delete the cc.
I did it for a while and quickly realized
it offers no benefits.
downsides:
-contributes to global warming
-fuel vapor smell makes you heel-toe sluggishly
-slightly diminished mpg
-extreme degassing while filling tank
-engine light if you don't fool ecu

Meaning its just a basic run of the mill cloth/mesh filter. I dont use oil on mine, nor have I really ever used K&N oil (I still have a spray can from like 1998 that I use to stop squeeky doors ).

The fuses were a bit of a pain. I admittingly just used Zip-Ties and tied them to one of the ECU cables. They lost alot of user accessability but I didnt see any clean way of mounting them. If they would have had a couple more inches of harness length maybe, but they were a pretty snug fit for their stock position.

One other thing I cant figure out. How do you tighten the nut that holds the pulley onto the supercharger. When you tighten the nut it just spins the supercharger so wont really tighten very much at all.

Do dry filters filter less than oiled?

I had a k&n on my NA Reverie intake; all it required was washing and re-oiling.
Are dry filters meant to be cleaned or just replaced?

It must just be that my strap wrench sucks. The band stretches and the pulley spins. Will get a better one.

Finished the VF2 supercharger install. Only have to finish the Turbophil rear clam tilt before can connect battery and turn on engine. Car all back together except battery, but need to do some trimming on roll bar cover to get tilting clam clearance as per instructions...

I had to use a cutoff grinder to remove 1/2 inch from both the proximal and distal ends of the air intake. Now it fits perfectly without touching the wheel liner and with the MAF housing perfectly horizontal, and have clearance on all sides of the filter, can even exchange it with tubes in place. Also there is some gap inbetween the throttle body and the air intake to allow for engine movement, I think they were abutting eachother with the stock length. (Yes I deburred with file, emory clothed edges, cleaned inside. The metal is soft, went easily). Also had to make a second hole in the air intake support tab (the once closer to the filter) closer to the pipe so that the bolt would go through the rollover support and the two tabs in a straight line. Will add picture later.

To tighten and more importantly loosen the nut on the pulley, I used a oil filter strap. Its a metal band one with foam adhered on the inside. Grabbed no problem.

Can't you just get it snug and then torque it down after the drive belt is installed?

Yes, doctor!

Good luck with the installation.

Okay. Finally finished installing everything this morning. Been driving around all day. Idle is great. Low rpm torque much improved. Gas pump not noticeable. Turbocharger noise nice but barely noticeable over the exhaust. But OH MY GOD I love the air intake howl.

I got a check engine light and went to autozone for free read. 0601 (check sum error) apparently normal after ECU reprogram. The install manual should mention this. Also have a vacuum leak error, seemed harmless enough so ignored it. Will let FVMC fix it when they do previously scheduled routine maintenance tomorrow. Maybe this is the error that is supposed to go away with reset?

Cant wait to do Black Hawk Farms with Lotus Corps next monday and see what it can do at the track.

Got the car back from FVMC today. The vacuum leak error was because I plugged in the solenoid for the charcoal canister into its receptacle backwards. Not bad for a total newb and a single trivial error. They charged me about $100 shop time to find it. While they were at it had them do rtv brace and moroso oil pan so I would be ready for track day this Monday.

Still addicted to that intake howl and newly found torque. Soooo glad I dont have to program EFI.

Charlie do you recommend a colder spark plug or was it designed around the stock temp spark plug?

Vf told me it's designed for the normally aspirated oem plug.

Another VF II installed

Finally got my kit after a few weeks...and installed it last weekend. It took me around 10 hours.
A few comments :
I left the stock coolant U pipe and lines in place, they are not in the way.
I used my Katana intake studs for the manifold.
The SC snout fits very fine with the alternator bracket.
With the DBW throttle plate adaptor, you have to cut the intake tube 1 inch at both ends, this put the brackets in the right place and the air filter fits perfectly.
The hole for the MAF sensor in my intake tube is too large, 1.250 inch instead of 1.220. I used a thicker O ring and put the oem between the MAF sensor and the tube's wall to avoid leaks...
I took off the plastic piece that holds the wires (near the oil cap) and split the bunch of wires over the manifold for the injectors, under for the others. If you route that way, the wire for the VVTI will be long enough.
To change the gas pump, I cut and bent the access panel to make room for the pump. You have to pry between the stainless ring and the pump housing (white plastic) to take off the ring and then the pump.

I am very pleased with this kit !
Idle is perfect, AFR are perfect, boost around 8- 8.5, no vacuum leaks, no stall, just fun !
