Mine does that too...I think it just needs to be road tuned a little more...the last time we tried, the visit was side-tracked by a bad idle caused by a sooty o2 sensor. I would like to try again sometime.

At least all my stalling issues are completely gone. I cant remember the last time my car has stalled...I guess it was the day I switched out the o2 sensor. The old one was PITCH BLACK.

Correct, both times it has came on I was driving at highway speed, 5th or 6th so probably around 4-4.5K RPM. Just cruising and I would get that slight head wind feeling and then the CEL would come on.

Gremlins

I installed my VF stage 1 as an upgrade from the BWR (Charlie tuned) kit two weeks ago. I was totally happy with the tune last time but have a couple of issues with the new reflash. The worst being that now whenever I turn, especially right it has a horrible misfire even around the streets in low gears at low speeds, this goes immediately upon straightening the car up!! It also "hunts a little at 35mph and also has a stall problem sometimes. I made sure I put the MAF in horizontal and have checked for air leaks. Has anybody any suggestions as I have a track day next week, even though this is my daily drive.

That is a very generic statement for complex test. How did you test for air leaks? It took me probably 3 days of testing to get all of my leaks fixed.

The best way to test is to find a shop that has a smoke machine with uv dye.

You said you went to stage1. Was this with a pump or without? Stock headers?

First rule of fight club, dont talk about fight club when your happy with it

What I'm saying is that most peoples nature is to not be vocal about something unless there is something wong. Like a doctor might have a bad perspective on life cause no one ever schedules an appointment to say "hey I feel great!"

The beauty of ownership with this car is that she is a complete pain in the ass....whether stock or modified.....and we love her for that

Satisfaction

Although I still have issues with my car I will say I have no issues with Jermaine and Charlie. I have had multiple emails trying to solve the problems so as with other experiences in the Lotus community I am very satisfied.

Misfire still

Can anyone explain this. My VF stage ! runs great but if I turn right above 1900 rpm it misfires until I straighten the steering but when I removed the ABS fuse and hence the wheel sensors the problem was resolved. This then returned when I reactivated the ABS. '06 DBW Elise.

One thing to check is that the sensors are magnetic, so metal debris etc can stick to them and some times cause pickup issues.

2nd thing is if you have changed your tires to a slightly smaller diameter rear and slightly larger front it will cause the traction control to kick on during cornering. (If you have that option on your car)

I did replace my tires a while ago but with the same as original, I shall check for any debris thanks for the hint. My 06 Elise does not have traction control.
Is there any way of knowing which sensor may be the problem?

My OBD-2 reader doesnt show the fuel trims. But the car idle's very well. Although on the highway at partial throttle I can sometimes feel the engine sputtering, it almost feels like a light head wind coming and going.

Any ideas? Could it be a vacuum leak somewhere? But it doesnt make the idle chase. Maybe charlie accidently put a stage 1 flash? But again the idle is very very good. It pretty much can sit right on 14.6 for several seconds at a time.
I have the same code, along with p0420, which is 'catalyst system efficiency below threshold'. My engine light has been on since the kit was installed.

The vf2 tune doesn't like the operate below 3500 rpms.
This is from experience. It bogs down below this threshold.

in the interest of fair play - so we can get to hear from happy as well as unhappy customers perhaps a poll would be good to put up? this may put things in perspective

I was very happy for the two week I was running. I had some stalling the first few days, but they seem to have gone away.. then my car was hit and it's been in the shop ever since...sadness. As I said before, I'd recommend it to all of my friends.

Good to hear everyone's honesty. In regards to the system too rich code there will be a an ecu map revision free to anyone who is having the problem. Likely to only be STG2 customers. As we continue to the make the kit better and add products we will also be here to stand behind our products.

Thanks,

Jermaine~
