It has come to the attention of the staff here that often FOR SALE ads are turning into discussion threads. The Classifieds section is NOT the place for discussion.

Posts in for sale ads should be limited to questions relevant to the sale of the item at hand and directed to the owner.

Please do not enter into someone elses FOR SALE thread and announce that the price is to high, or that you can find it elsewhere for half as much, etc. It is up to the individual buyer to do their own research and make the best purchase possible.


If you feel you can find a better price elsewhere then dont buy the item. If you have questions about the asking price PM the owner to discuss making an offer.

Offending posts are subject to removal and users warned accordingly.

I was not a big believer in this as policy and even more doubtful for non-Lotus sales. However recent threads have convinced me that this rule is a worthy compromise. I was wrong and Jen was right. As Matt, and probably most of the other moderators.

If you are reading a for sale thread, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to post that the price is too high.

But wait.. maybe the person is clueless and needs to be straightened out and you are just the person to do it? Then PM the seller. That would work right?

If you feel you HAVE TO publicly post to everyone why the price is too high, then question why you could not do that privately. What is your motivation?

Allowing the slamming of the seller and the seller's prices is not going to happen. I will remove those posts and if it continues, I will deal with the poster.
