If I understand correctly, this has all boiled down to the cars being specifically imported as racecars. The Feds want to do everything possible to keep these cars from being made street legal in the US. In theory, since they have been imported as race cars, they can never be made street legal here.

Some people seemed to be so obsessed with driving anything with four wheels on the road they would try to legalize a top fuel dragster for road use. I am sure with in 10 minutes someone will post a legalized version they found with Google.

Latest I heard is that deliveries will now be late June. Not sure I believe that date either anymore.
Since it relisticaly means missing half the track season I am looking at other options, any suggestions. |

Dealer who is at the factory now. Next thing we know it will be late July.
Given the size of the deposits asked for, Dot forms etc I did not expect this. A the time of ordering the dealer told me that Lotus well understood that as a track car I had to be delivered timeously for the track season which in the NE is short. Cant blame the dealers. I think Lotus needs to review and respond appropriatly. |

There is a meeting going on in the U.K. this week at Lotus to discuss the goings on in the U.S. market and deliverables, among other things. The Lotus salesman at Star is one of the members of the U.S. committee that was formed for that purpose. Deliveries of the 2-11 are on his agenda. This was direct from that gentleman.
Unless the information is coming from one of the committe members it is most likely here-say. Tim Earl is the gentleman from our area, I do not know who the others are. By next week we may know more of what Lotus has in store for the U.S. |
