The h.p. number and weight are the published numbers for the car that have appeard to date. If there is something different going on then I don't know. Along with actual delivery times I guess we'll just have to do the old wait and see routine. |

The 2-Eleven is a great track car. The delays are a shame but really a matter of the feds getting their paws into it. Sad really.
If you need an open track car now, the Toniq R is a great option but otherwise wait for the 2 Eleven. If you can go closed, pick-up a 2007 Cup Car at a discount.

I don't have any in stock but I do know of dealers that do. I can't speak for them but I'm sure I could acquire one and sell it for a decent discount. It's hard to put an exact number on it without know exact options and where I would need to go get it.

hey! Its well worth the wait
![]() I waited for mine for since lotus said it'll be in production last year................got it 19th of jan 08 ![]() Its not exactly problem free....................got constant ecu error code of second (post cat) o2 sensor failure.....................lotus found out a ground wire in the ecu harness ****ed up.....................had to run an extra external ground wire direct from the ecu to the sensor to by-pass the ground wire in the main harness...............with a latest ecu refresh from lotus sport uk, its much faster & smoother then ever ![]() So don't worry about the 08 260 exige cup differences.......................its just a few hp, right?!? I'll recommend the new optional taller areo screen + new mirrior though. Its a relative trouble free, fast production yota lotus that doesn't cost an arm & a kidney to own & run when compare with scuderia / GT3 RS ![]() BTW, I 've the road version....................drove it to shopping mall, nite out to deserts etc...........draw loads of happy attentions from other road users, tourists + traffic cops ![]() My friends 2-11 ran great at track in zic, too!!!! But, make sure lotus sport sort out the ECU, Throrrle body + ecu wiring harness!!!!!!!!!!!! There had been recorded above issues in japan & hk ![]() Ur dealers should be able to sort out all this little bugs....................after all its the 1st yr 2-11 production & remember, its a lotus..................... ![]() We should be real happpy to own this piece of work from lotus..............especially most of us had own other modern lotus before....................its ownership & driving feel is unique ![]() Anyway, hope u lot will be receiving urs soon.......................much like expecting a baby ![]() PS, I also waited for months for my ducati 1098s..................when u finally stare at it in ur house at nite on ur own...........................u'll say: its well worth all the troubles ![]() |

I spoke with Tim Earl at Star Lotus in Houston today for an update on last week’s U.K. meeting. He said that U.S. 2-Elevens probably won’t be delivered until June. The hang-up preventing May delivery is the Fed review of the waivers. He doesn’t know if the U.S. spec cars have been built yet but said they can be built in one week and shipping will take about two. He drove a 2-11 and said the quality is superb.
Tim is a very nice guy, by the way. This is the first time I've spoken with him and he was very helpful. |

The News on the s Eleven directly from the factory
Quote:
There were plenty of 2 Elevens driving around the parking lot. They look great. B/T/W the new secret car was being assembled in a section of the facility, but it was surrounded by black curtains. Sorry--no pictures as they make you surrender all cameras (including cell phones) upon entry. |

Sounds consistent with what I've heard -- first batch of 8 US 2 Eleven's should be arriving in late June or early July. The next installment should be arriving in the September/October time frame.

There's been a lot of resistance from the Feds to bring this car over and LCU has had to jump hurdles in order to get approval however; like Jack said, you should see the first batch (8) by late June the earliest but more likely early July.
The secret car (Eagle) has a seperate build area that is quarantine from even some of staff in Hethel...it is beautiful though ![]() |

There is no reason that this car should not be street legal, other than our gov trying to protect us from ourselves.
I just watched a German Car magazine TV show where they were talking about Lotus first getting the 211 certified for road use in Europe/Germany and Japan; and then finally just get the thing over to the US for at least track use. Anyway, the German TV Mag talked about how Lotus needed to get the car legal for sale and road use for Germany. They test drove the car on the street for this article, although I'm sure they also took it to the track. They said that with a car as easy and enjoyable to drive as the 211, it would be a real shame if you could only drive it on the track. They had it on the backroads in Germany and just drove is respobsibly and had a blast the entire time. If someone on here thinks the 211 should not be driven on the street, then the same could be said for the Exige S, Elise, Porsche GT3/RS, Porsche GT2, and a few others I can think of. I have one available to me and I may still pick it up, but it looks like I will have to go with the Atom instead since I know I can get that one on the street. Oh, and deliveries are Sept/Oct now; is that not correct? Also, I believe the weight is about 1,600 lbs, not 1,400 lbs.

There appears to only be six cars on this first release. There is only one West Coast car and it is currently on a "slow" train bound for San Diego. The other five 2-Elevens arrived in the Newark, NJ port and are in route by truck with other Elise/Exiges for Lotus USA's Baltimore port. All other information in my above reply is correct. A miracle may get the East Coast cars released this week. Good luck on the rail delivery, Jack!

In order to purchase a 2-11 in th U.S. perspective buyers had to sign documents stating that the car will not be used on the street. The car is not equiped with headlights, turn signals, horn, or a legal windscreen. The car was never certified with the department of transportation for street use. There are probally more details, but that is the main gist of it. The Ginetta aside from being made in enough number and having met certification requirements, is offered with road going gear which the 2-11 is not.
