gotcha...sorry for the noob question...that makes sense. If that is the case then I would assume the 2-11 won't be submitted for crash testing or emissions standards.
thanks for answering and not flaming ![]() |

Hi Fred, I miss you. You don't call, you don't write...I need to read about you in the Wall Street Journal. LOL ![]() The latest news is that the boat on which my car has been vacationing (I believe it took the scenic route and made many stops ) will dock on the 7th. I've been told that it is slated for expedited transport to the West Coast. My bet is, if I'm lucky, I'll see it by month-end. We'll see. ![]() |

Mine (BRG; #224; build #193) was delivered to the dealer on July 24th. I ran it at the LOG 28 track day at Putnam Park yesterday. A real hoot but way too quiet for a track car. It's much more quiet than the car Lotus USA has been showing for the past year. I don't like the variable LTC. I think it may need the Torsen type LSD.

I'm aware of yours -- it was the first and, as far as I know, the only one so far that has made it to the States and that has been delivered to a dealer. Enjoy it and change out the muffler. ![]() Btw, if you going to add LSD -- get the plate-type as opposed to the torsen. All the best, |

Thanks, Jack! I've heard the opposite to the LSD. The plate type was developed originally for FWD cars and may be good for autocross but not high speed road courses. The O/M for the 2-Eleven only mentions the optional "Torsen" type LSD. The optional accessories dealer manual, however, mentions both. I've already sent my feelings on the variable LTC to the dealer and Lotus USA. I should have mentioned it to Roger Becker while he was at the track. I'm currently waiting for answers. The guys at Auto Europe (Detroit) have been real successful in installing the "Torsen" type on Elise/Exiges. They received this info from the UK. BTW, Roger also mentioned that the 2-Eleven should not be shod with slicks without converting it to dry sump. Apparently long left handers will exceed the two liter capacity of the Accusump. Have fun with your two!

I saw this while I was trolling for cars on the inter-web. Does this dealership in Las Vegas really have a new 2 11 sitting in their showroom?

I spent yesterday at the track with two 2-11s.
They are starting to come in! Only one of them was a customer car, the other belonged to Lotus.
