What a shame havent worked on car for almost 2 months . Just can't find enough spare time . Thought quick update is in order . Bought roof for it will try to paint it this weekend, Im hopping color will match , after several months of waiting wheels came in.Very impressed with how light they are .
Few pictures of the seats . Im sure everyone who put 5 point harness in elise ran in to same problem . Harness are too far apart when you mount them on the outside of the seat . Sector 111 makes grommets but the area where they recoment to install it is way too low ( im 6'2 ) . This is the solution I came up with . Build up sides of the seat with fiberglass and redid upolstery with black leather . This way I put grommets right at shoulder line .

I'm not an expert and this being a safety issue you should consult someone who is an expert. BUT my understanding is that the grommets should be below your shoulder line. I recall the number 30 degrees, but I am not sure on this one.

HA! I can't believe you modded your seats rather than buying new ones with holes already in them. Very cool.

Did the tour and LOVE the car AND the color. The only thing you need to do now is to cut off the top I love to see guys doing what they think looks good on these cars. They are just waiting for mods. BE creative don't be BORING. GREAT JOB!! The headlamp arrangement really came into its own once the paint was applied!
If you want opinions, I would loose the rear wing personally. It doesn't keep up with your level of build(actually a back handed compliment I guess)

They should be wherever they need to be in order for the shoulder belts to be as close as possible to perpendicular with your spine. For most people with a seat that isn't very reclined, that means at the tops of the shoulders.

Below the shoulders too much, you compress your spine. Above, you compress your head in a rollover.

For someone 6'2, they're right about where they should be in this context. Very cool seat mod, too.

LMFAO what happened to the flame post? That was hillarious! Also was a valid opinion, even if insulting.

You did not see the post and therefore can only speculate on its contents and the reason for deletion. Your speculation is wrong BTW.

Personally, i don't think the post was ban-worthy... it's expected that some Lotus purists would react violently to such an extreme makeover.

You saw both of them to make that judgement?

It was pretty far from an "I don't agree with the design choices" opinion. Entirely ban worthy, IMO.

Anyway, enough noise. More build pics.
