Good riddance! There is zero value in having glass there... you can't see anything through it anyway.

all the parts that are available in carbon, the tailgate is the only one left. And I'm sure Lotus will massacre you on it's price. $2k>

It would be more of an upstart than a spin off.

Not sure I understand, so I trust that you know I meant no disrespect to your products with my comment - just trying to be funny, but sometimes a post does not show the humor as well.

It's all good, maybe my humor was too subtle... the "UP" in "upstart" was meant to be the funny part. In a Vi*gra sort of way...

I'll keep my day job.

Ok, cool, I get it! (Too sublte for me so I will keep my day job! If the "up" was "UPstart" I'd have gotten it).

For my next day job, I want to carry this girl's bags or fettle her clam, or something like that:

Thomas, you should lend Mike your engine lid so he can make a carbon mold!

That engine lid (and wing) are *heavy*, aren't they?

Of course I do hope it can be driven on the streets, but mostly so I can get it to the track without buying a truck!

Personally, what I love, is that Lotus seems to be listening to the customer. They see that many of us, in keeping with Chapman's mantra, are reducing wieght and adding lightness.

The changes to the factory cars are remarkably similar to the mods we see on our own cars.

Lotus! I'll be coming to visit in a week.
