5th Gear: Dogfight - KTM X-Bow v Lotus 211

It is not Top Gear but it will have to do...

In the past year or so I went into two local KTM dealers to ask if they might be able to get a Cross Bow delivered here in the US if someone wants one for track duty and was told NO both times. The X-Bow does look pretty radical/ugly.
Nice video!!

Wish they'd spent more time playing on track and less time playing with boxes.

I did LMAO at the "earrings" comment though!

They shouldn't try to be Top Gear, it just doesn't work for them.

The second half was pretty cool though once they got through the stupid boxes thing.

The only reason I'm gonna watch this is cuz Lotus is in there... Fifth Gear just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe its cuz im such a loyalist to Top Gear than when I see the Fifth Gear logo I instantly make a puke face.

Doesn't the 211 have launch control? Not sure why he bogged down at the start.

I was thinking precisely the same thing. No excuse for that bog off the line at all, unless of course he "gave that to him" on purpose, to create at least a little drama. ...Nawww, that would NEVER happen with 5th Gear!

They are both professional race drivers - I doubt very much that they would use laucnh control even if it was fitted (it's optional on the 211).

Also I think the 211 was NA so is much easier to bog down if you get it wrong - the SC can wheelspin quite easily in 1st so no reason to have it bog at all.

I know you guys love Top Gear and Jeremy but I can't stand him. I find him arrogant and annoying. I'll take Fifth Gear any day. Just my opinion. Don't flame me please.

Just saw the video. Yeah, the moving boxes part was stupid.

I'm with you. I think Top Gear is more entertaining in general, but I find Clarkson annoying. What I really want is an opinion about driving the car, and for that I will take Tiff or Jason any day over Clarkson.

Those guys did not drive very well for professional race drivers. The 211 is supercharged because they said it had more power than the KTM.

you need to get on the "list" for the car... the motorcycle shops don't know whats going on.

They will send you send you updates and contact you with the latest story about us availablitly - it will not be street legal, it will eventaully make it hear once demand / production is satisfied elsewhere first. or that was the storyabout a two years ago.. i have lost interest since then and don't really read the email updates anymore.

They were just having fun. They do pretty well in full on competition mode: Tiff has a couple of F1 starts while Jason has 46 BTCC wins.

Top Gear still rules though

I think the box thing was unique--tag this thread for the question "can I use it for a daily driver?"
