Race weight is actually 1824+/- with a full 3.25 gallon tank of gas. My legal min weight is 1803lbs. The car was 1595 with the turbo w/o ballast to meet the minimum. I estimate it is about 1620 w/o ballast with the supercharger.

The key is to get the weigh down so you can add it back where you want it. In my case passenger footwell or where the AC used to be on the right front.

You're right though, When I go to the drag strip in a week or so, I need to yank all that weight!

First Local event after nationals. Trying to see if I can still drive.
Apparently so. FTD + FPTD. Of course the fact that our 2 local hotshoes weren't there: Brian Peters(2008 CSP Champ) and Tage Evanson(2008 FM 2nd) certainly helped the cause.

Please thank your wife for taking me for a ride at Firebird last weekend. It was a fantastic ride. I'm saving my pennies for the SC kit

Planned Upgrades for this year....
- Car is ready to go back under the knife for a heart transplant! Although the 3 year old mill has been holding together great with only stiffer valve-springs and headstuds, I would rather be safe than sorry!
- Working with DRS on some proprietary head modifications which are yielding some very promising flowbench numbers. I.E. More power!
- Additionally, working on a 5.5" clutch setup that should pull 10-15lbs of reciprocating mass off of the crank!
- Re-make the experimental wheels to reduce weight.
- Play with front aerodynamics for more downforce.
- Most important: Tighten the nut behind the wheel!

They're tiny:

Fronts are 23.5x11R16 and the rears are 23.5x12R16. Hoosier Radials.

Looking over the thread I saw a couple of posts about what was removed or modified on the car that got you down to the 1595lb range, but if you have anymore details I would be real curious to learn about it. Also any more details where was the extra weight that brought it back up to 1855 before ballast? Thanks.

I run the car at about 1830 w/ Ballast, not without. I am running an optima red-top in the cavity where the A/C used to be. That battery weighs 38lbs and it is right where I want the weight. I replaced the Odyssey because I like having the extra reserve. Additionally, I run over 100lbs ballast in the passenger footwell. Currently running the passenger seat for ride-alongs, but that gets ditched for the big events.

Weight savings:

Awesome list thanks! I was kind of surprised on some of the items like the center console is 13lbs. wow. I might try to copy some of your ideas like the quick connect under tray and clam removal. If you don't mind giving any tips or additional pictures it would be appreciate. If not I understand, thanks again.

The undertray is kind of a special deal. For the mid-tray, I bent the sides up so they fit up inside the area the under tray covers. It tucks in as normal in the front, then I use the last 8mm holes on the side to hold down a rotating wing that flips out to bar the undertray from falling out. Then welded to the sides of the original 2 holes for allen bolts, I have 2 qtr turn fasteners(cam locks). Lastly on the back of this I have a little strip of aluminum riveted along the edge to create a slot to hold the front edge of the rear diffuser. Same as the middle, there are 2 cam-lock recepticles welded to the orginal allen bolt recepticles. Then I have a piece of aluminum on each side connected to the 8mm on the edge of the rear frame that used to hold the extentions for the heat shield brackets. These hang-down and have a comlock in them that connect to the diffuser after it does the turn-up in the back. Confused? here are the Pics I have...

Y'know, you could save another three pounds if you picked the gravel off of your tires...
