This is the S/C setup. Frank's car makes more power, but is a lowered compression turbo setup. We have different goals. This car is for auto-xing which needs ZR-1 kind of power delivery across a wide RPM band, since the acceleration zones are so short. However to optimize for this I kept the stock 11.5:1 compression and run VP C-12 leaded race fuel.

I can't believe I missed this thread until now. That thing is absolutely INSANE! (the car not the driver.... ok, the driver is a close 2nd)
I feel bad for the other XP competitors. It's not even fair when you show up with this thing. You mentioned a few posts up that you took it to the drag strip. Did you ever make it? Curious what the times were.

As far as the XP competition, I am not the best driver out there, so it helps keep things even. It is funny though because XP is kind of the catch-all class, so if somebody shows up with the wrong set of minor mods, they get bumped into XP and then it is a bit of a bloodbath. The drag strip didn't happen because the car won't pass tech for about 100 reasons.

And just wait until the Noble/Rossion is classed in XP. Should be fun.

It is using a Lysholm 1.6L twin-screw. It is a one-off. Closer to the TVS, but that is a 1.2L blower vs. MP62 which is 1.0L.

Finally, after taking the transmission off the 3rd time, I remembered my camera. Here are some pics of my uber-trick 5.5" twin-disc button clutch and flywheel. This clutch, ring gear, and flywheels weighs about 11 lbs vs 28lbs for my old "lightweight flywheel and ACT race clutch. So that is 17lbs of ROTATIONAL MASS taken off of the driveline.

Dunno. I've had issues with the 3rd and 5th gear synchros breaking which is really weird since I don't use anything above 2nd. We suspect maybe the Royal purple gear lube has too much viscosity and is engaging the synchros when it shouldn't. That sounds like reaching, because it is, but there isn't a better theory. Sounds like a set of dogs in my future....

Now I have the BWR 5.5 custom button flywheel & ring gear, 2 disc cintered bronze clutch from quartermaster. Important thing to note is not just the 17lb savings but that it also is concentrated in a much smaller diameter which reduces angular momentum.

Not only does it rev sickly fast. It helps braking on course. Since we rarely downshift in autox, the braking is done with the engine engaged to the drive train. With a S/C you have alot of inertia and you end up using part of the brakes to slow the engine! Now that is far less an issue....
