Sadly to say, 1.3m HKD is a lot of green, that people can buy a nice used 2007 430 F car for more comfort drive or a 2007 hard core GT3RS with spare to buy a new set of rubber.

I wonder if TW or SG are getting theirs as well.
Last I heard, in SG, it sells for SGD$290k (USD$236k, SGD$1.22 to USD$1) and that's without a certificate of entitlement. Meaning you have to bid for a 'right to own a car" to actually buy a car. Add another SGD$10k to SGD$50k for the cert. Edit: just checked the new price for the cert for this category. It's about SGD$90k.

As far as I knew, SG you can re-use or re-sell the certificate of entitlement. The terms may be different. Correct me if I am wrong.

Exige Cup V-6 break in
I got the car on December 24 and will be running it at an open test session this Saturday (Jan 5) at Thunderhill to break it in. I've never broken in a new race car before as my previous cars started out as street cars and gradually morphed into track cars.
Any info on proper break in technique? I assume I should short shift it for the first couple hundred miles. |

Just get your head around the car, check vitals before, find your points (braking and turn-ins), cycle the tyres and get a feel for the chassis and suspension setup to your driving style. Then bring it in, check vitals once more of course, and maybe even make some changes/tweaks if you deem necessary. Most important of all... have fun

Thunderhill
I did the test session at Thunderhill. I took it easy. Short shifting at 5000rpm. The car was still very quick. Even with the short shifting it was still going about 130 into turn 1 with street tires. The brakes are amazing.
The factory alignment isn't very good. Needs a lot more negative camber front and rear. As you may know, the rear suspension is completely different than the 4 cyl cars. Looks much more robust. But I can't see how to adjust the camber. Does anyone know how that works? Also one really silly thing is that the gas cap has a lock. Not too smart on a race car. Does anyone know where I can get a non locking cap that fits? I tried an Elise cap but the Elise cap is bigger. |

just a random guess that its the same as the evora? if so maybe try asking those guys about rear camber adjustments. (from HK's pics, it looks like shims on the upper control pick up?)
perhaps try a generic car parts store for a gas cap? or just remove the tumbler and lock bits. congrats on the car!! Quote:
