well we are looking at other things as well for our product line. But yes, I think shaving off some weight will do nothing but help the cause.

I'd vote for the Trial 3ZZ engine or *maybe* something from Monkey Wrench: http://monkeywrenchracing.com/toyota..._packages.html

Take that information with a grain of salt... a member or two here had a horrible experience with them but other then that their 2ZZ engines seem to be well-built.

Can you give us a quick breakdown of what's allowed in your class? You say no turbo or superchargers but how far can you go with naturally aspirated mods?

Darton sleeves, Wiseco or Mahle high compression pistons, cams, and some headwork. With proper tuning you should see a good increase in usable power.

I just tried running Hypercoils and Penskes with Goodyear cantilever slicks on an autocross. The car was amazing. Now we're going to put a front sway bar on it. If you're thinking of changing your coils and or shocks you should call Robert over at Blackwatch Racing.

We currently dyno 177HP at the wheels. We are stock except for a JanSpeed Header and re-programmed ECU. We can not turbocharge or supercharge. Has anyone tried the TRD Pistons for our motor? They are supposed to increase HP by 15.

The car is currently 1810 pounds and we are running the US Cup Car Spring rates (456 front - 571 rear) and series required Hankook Slicks. Has anyone found a suspension with harder spring rates?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,
Please call me or e mail me at markstarr@huntingridgemotors.com or call me at 914 939-7200. I have Nitron Race shocks in stock. They are 3 way adjustable and have a spring rate of 600 in the front and 700 for the rear. Hope that helps.............

you didn't say what modifications are allowed, just that no forced induction is permitted. How stock or modified can things be? We need answers before we can tell you something that violates rules. How much money are you willing to spend?

How is that that someone into serious racing doesn't know where to get stiffer springs?

Well, some really loaded race car owners do not know much about mechanical part of their race cars, all they need to do is tell their race engineers how they want their cars to perform. They just drive the shxt out of their cars in races.
I ain't loaded, so I need to check out for best prices for all the parts that I need!

I'd suggest contacting Donelise on this board, he will be able to build you up a stoker motor, or you could buy a 3ZZ motor from Trial Racing in Japan.

There are two configurations, Standard and LTS
The 3ZZ LTS Engine includes TRIAL original forged pistons, custom made connecting rods, crank shaft, bearings and other necessary small parts.
With Japanese gas it puts out 230ps at 7700 rpm. Torque is 19.9kgm at 6840 rpm.
The price is ¥1,837,500.
That works out to be about $15,700.00
For both engines we use a combination of PowerFC (to control the vvc timing) and an HKS F-Con V Pro for the rest (both sold separately).
This engine is set up to stand up to forced induction.
The current compression is 13.5:1 and the rev limit is 8800rpm (if you plan to go turbo, you might want to lower compression)

The Standard engine uses fabricated stock parts so you get a little less power and you don’t want to boost it.
Price is ¥945,000 yen (about $8,000 US)
Power: 214ps @7700rpm
Torque: 19.9 @6840rpm
Compression: 12.5:1
Rev limit: 8300rpm

Could try 46mm Ohlins shocks' and widden the wheels for better cornering like the UK GT race cars that Cadena run.

You may want to talk to them directly
