Snap-in Lap Belts Harnesses

Has anyone successfully installed snap-in lap belts as part of a 4/5/6 point harness? This would typically include snap-in brackets and eye bolts so the lap belts can be removed.

These are the brackets: http://www.schrothracing.com/product...ap-in-hardware

I'm told there is not enough room to do this kind of installation in our cars safely. It would be nice if someone could post pictures and prove this wrong. Thanks!

that's what i'm using for my lap belts. they're clipped into eye bolts drilled through the frame on the floor at the base of the bulkhead. there are only two options for securing the lap belts... using the s111 piggy back arrangement or through the floor either using eye bolts/snaps ins or rallye clips.

you will loose a couple of detents worth of rearward travel on the driver's side if you use the eyebolts/sanps ins. personally, i think it's worth it. if you remove the lap belts while street driving, you regain all of the seat travel, provided you very, very carefully installed the eyebolts in the proper locations.

i used the schroth backer plates in conjunction with the eyebolts. the eyebolts will need to be the longer version, (longer than what is provided in the harness packaging)

the basic 2"X4" shape of the plates were not entirely compatible with the flat bottom of the car. i ground down the rectangular shape in order to make better contact with the underside of the car.

and just to piggy-back on ed's install. his was done by a professional race fab shop. his seats are not from lotus and the backet into which that eyebolt is fastened is not from lotus. it is all custom work.

Cant you just use the anti-sub bar from Sector and attach your belts to that? I have a 6 point sub belt sitting on my desk and I planned on installing them tonight...

you certainly could use them, if you like the design.
