The instructor gave you good advice when i heard him tell you not to muscle the car around.
You will have MUCH better control of the car if you do not lean you body to turn the car. I thought it may be because of lateral forces, but you are leaning really hard before you even enter the corner.
remember, you steer the car with your hands, not your body weight.
I would think it might be a very good investment to get a CG lock, or better yet, some belts to hold you/your torso in place better. your control of the car will increase considerably. that habit of leaning your body into turns so much is going to bite you in the butt big time. if you need to correct a mistake, your body position needs to be neutral.
Looks like you had fun, remember HPDE is not racing, so many of those cars you are passing are likely learning things not going at anyones full capability(like yourself also, as you cannot have a conversation when "racing").
be safe, you will learn more while going slow and learning techniques, than you will "going fast" and duplicating the same errors.
you look like you have alot of natural ability.
that was a very courteous group of drivers you were out with. nice to see so many point byes for passing.
Nice track

Also the grip on the steering wheel looked a bit unorthodox, and grabbing the wheel at the 12'o clock position and pulling down, tends to cut down on the smoothness of the inputs...otherwise looked fun.

Ahhh the spin, I watch that whenever I think I should change my underwear but just don't have a good enough reason.

In addition to the wiper I hit the horn as things got bad... it didn't help.

Hey, I was there yesterday for some PCA drivers ED. Lots of fun. My tires were doing the same thing in the toe of the boot. What kind are you running?

I was s'posed to be there too

I was running the A048's (LTS) in the video. I switch to slicks after the first session. But, I've started running the inside line through there and it works very well. since it's a more sudden transition to the uphill, you can break later, turn harder and stay off the concrete patch until the very end.

Hope it works for ya.

I was using the AD07 (hope that is the right identifier), so I was thinking that was the cause of all the noise. Guess not. I was bouncing a bunch on the concrete patches which was leading to a bunch of noise. I tried keeping the inside wheels on the inside of the patch until the apex where you can`t avoid it. That seemed to help for a less dramatic turns. I was braking at or just after the 200 sign, probably could have gone a bit deeper, but it was my first time on the track. Looks like you were also getting a gear shift in on the short straight before the turn. I was bumping up against the rev limiter, but it was so short I did not want to mess with the shift.

I run exactly the opposite line. Two wheels to the left of the concrete and back on the gas ASAP. It is the momentum line and that is what we are.

I'll try it. I am catching a lot of folks running the inside. Are you keeping your wheels off the concrete all the way up? I noticed a lot of marbles at the top left of the patch.

No, you go up the hill on the least steep part so that you can maintain your speed. You cross over the concrete and late apex, on the gas all of the way.
