Very rare, only a handfull were made that color, I forget the exact figure. And no I think it was only in 88' so no SE.

can see the early Esprit Turbo headrest, does look like an 88.
Never seen that color; can't say I love it, but it is very interesting. Paint/car look in good shape. Your car looks good too. Did the S4 have that spoiler and side scoops or is that something you added? My 93.5 SE (a sort of crossover to the S4) had a different front spoiler. You run the S4s chip? That was a big improvement for me. Really smoothed out idle. |

fyi, i have pics posted of an 89 SE in garnet
Also, mikelr I have pics of your sweet custom 94 at the NY Auto Show. I never like red non Ferrari sports cars, but yours is a perfect combo!!

there was a white esprit in the bond movies. Thats my my white Exige was used in a bond photo shoot..I guess they couldn't get any white esprits in so cal.
there may have very well been a brown one as well but I don't know my bond movies that well.

A buddy of mine had a 91 SE. He took Marcus' chip and "cracked" the code and adjusted the fuel maps, which were mostly way rich to be safe. We put a bigger turbo on the car, a T5 maybe? I'm not sure which one, and built a custom exhaust ourselves.
That's the fastest car I've driven. Dynoed at about 340 rwhp. And still had the Yota/Renault brake combination.....lol..... By 50,000 miles on the car, it was breathing pretty heavy though. Almost no oil pressure at hot idle, but then I've seen 907/910s run with next to no oil pressure at hot idle for a LONG time. |

look up my esprit pics thread. I can post more of your red 94 at the NYC show, but they are from google images btw
The brown esprit that bond used was actually a sweet metallic maroon color, more pearly than garnet. It was in the snow scenes of For Your Eyes Only. ( Calypso red? not the common red on most esprits)
