Being in a similar position recently, I might offer a suggestion, Keep the exige, And buy a Audi s8. Its a perfect combination for extreme driving and luxury sport driving. i Love the way the esprits look, But Do they really live up to lotus handling characteristics? If You sell the exige You are selling such a unique driving experience. just a thought to consider. At least drive an S8 before You rule it out, they are unbelievable machines.

I have a 2004 Final Edition and the handling characteristics are everything that Lotus has delivered in the past and then some. Just a pleasure of a car to drive and own, but then again I'm biased

My friend sold his burgandy 04 "final edition" esprit to an exotic car dealer in Jacksonville Florida, they could still have it. It is or was FLAWLESS & had JE forged pistons. If I had the money, I would track that car & buy it! I also have a final run Esprit & a 97 V8, A clean final edition Esprit is what you want but I am biased as well, having 8 other cars - I will never let my final edition go! or the E60 M5 or the Sport 190. But I will sell the rest of them!!!!

I'm not terribly knowledgeable on Esprits, so I don't know if this car fits your criteria

Smile Evora Smora

I don't gel with the Evora for some reason.. I would almost rather wait for the 2010 / 2011 Esprit, but it am having Lotus withdrawal symptoms already afet two weeks of being without one.
As to the quaint and almost poetic "early adopter" tag, I see Guinea Pig written all over it I'm afraid. I prefer to buy number 300 + Ha Ha ..

I need an Esprit

The Esprit handles well, except when you know you have a V8 Twin Turbo motor or 4 cylinder tubo motor behind you & it feels a little more scary w/all that torque. Esprit is definitely for more advanced drivers, but the handling is superb.

Someone in my town is selling an 04 Esprit in Black for $59k....If I had the money I would jump at it! But then again I'll be paying back student loans for the next 100 year when I get out of school!
