Hmmmmm.......

Rumors regarding the powerplant of the next Esprit have gone back and forth to include a V8 from BMW. While I do not know of any decision going one way or another, this story from Leftlanenews.com is very interesting as it would apply to the reborn Lotus flagship........

Report: BMW to use twin-turbo V8 for new M5

Everything that "might" be for the esprit sounds amazing. I can't wait for it to all be official.

Re engine: Bottom line is, no one will shell out 100k+ for a toyota powerplant.

OT: Will the new M5 be lighter than the current model?

As long as there are no "Renault" labels anywhere near the transmission or drivetrain I think there will be an improvement.

the new M5 will not use a V10. It will have a twin turbo V8.

Fat chance. 4000 lbs isn't all that much, all things considered.

Going from a TTv10 to an Aluminum TTv8 is a big difference.
