Is the Jaguar XE the sister of the next MSC

Leaks at Jaguar are revealing that they are working on a Audi R8 competitor. The vehicle will utilize the same aluminum structural system first used by the XJ and XK series and developed by Lotus (basically a modified VVA system). Power will come mid-ship from the new 5.0 supercharged AJ-V8 (gen III) from the XF-R producing over 500 HP.

Makes me think that the next MSC may share platforms with the XE. I know it has been well publicized that the MSC was to use the BMW powerplant but you have to wonder if the Jag engine might not be better.
