Question Name This Minor Mystery Moggie Saloon

Happy Father's Day week-end to all,

Today's 'name that mystery car' is in honor of a nice gentlemen and English car lover I met while waiting on my dinner outside of the local pizza eatery in Carlsbad. This venerable English car was manufactured for over two decades and comes in a wide variety of shapes & sizes. The drab colored saloon shown in the indoor showroom photo is the very first one of this model produced.

My very first car was a green 1959 Morris Minor 1000 2-door coupe. Nice, very simple car that was quite dependable. Previous owner had upgraded it to include lap belts. Otherwise, not too many amenities.

I had a nice '76 MG Midget 1500 with a single Zenith Stromberg carburetor that had an oil pot. I never figured out what weight of oil was required. But it was a fun little convertible even with it's strange English quirks, Smith gauges, and triple bladed windscreen wipers. The tin worm took many of these cars out of action way too soon.
