I was going to say the same thing. The Elan is not very safe....fun....but not too safe. But I have been driving one for over 30 years.....

The Elan is a good car for driving on a twisty road in the middle of the night. Big SUVs and Trucks cant see the car at all so its pretty frustrating to drive during the day with traffic and nowhere to go.

Seats?
Hi and to answer your question on an easy seat option. I have a very similar elan project with a roll cage and have fit with no mods needed a set of Mazda Miata hi back seat. They can be had for cheap amount of money and just bolt right into place.
Nice looking project and they are the best to drive on the twisty roads. Enjoy and good luck. Like Tony, been driving and working on elans for about 30 years! Happy motoring Mark |
