I sold my M100 in 2000 or 2001 because I knew the Elise was coming. I figured it would depress the Elan prices. Sorry to say I was right.

I loved the M100. Great Car. My wife's favorite Lotus and I have had most of them.

I would love to get another one. Have my eye on what I think is the best one in the USA right now...but I just cannot swing it.

Edit...yes...the brakes are a joke and Lotus should fire the guy that spec..ed them out. The car is downright dangerous with the stock brakes. One of the main reasons sold the car is that I was driving with my son in the passenger seat. He was like 14. We were moving right along on the back roads and I was used to my Caterham.
Some jerk in a pickup pulls out right in front of me. I hit the brakes and the damn brakes dont even lock. Car just slows down and I nearly hit the guy. If I had not used that rule "do where he is now because by the time you get there he will be gone"....I would have hit him.

Love my M100. I may be forced to sell but we will see I have let certain parties know that I would consider selling.

Went to buy an Elise one day with the wife, she knew we were going home with the Elise. (Was to be her car). I got out and said for that much money I am buying a Caterham. 18 months later I have an M100 & a Caterham. The M100 is nicer to drive to work and the Cat is better to drive fast than the Elise (IMHO). If you have an M100 now and are considering an Elise, save your money and buy and a Caterham (or any sevenesque car) and have THE BEST OF BOTH.

I was going to get a Caterham, and have my M100 as the daily driver. But it started having problems so I picked up an Elise,as it was more practical than a Caterham.

I traded in my Caterham for an Elise. While not the biggest mistake I have made...it rates right up there. I miss my Caterham.
