I also remember a "lightweight E-Type", 1971, there it was in a showroom, I will never forget the passion.

The summer after my graduation from high school I was working for a Buick dealer, shagging cars and parts when a friend of mine, who had the same job with another dealership in Boulder drove up in an Elan. It was the smallest car I had ever seen close up. He asked me if I wanted to go for a ride and we went up Boulder Canyon, a twisty local mountain road. We go in a race with a new Corvette and, although he could pull away on long straights, we were far quicker through the turns and, when we hit the narrows, Reggie passed him. I was terrified, but never forgot the car and 4 years ago I finally bought a 64. These cars are not as easy to maintain as an Exige or Elise, but there is definitely a family bloodline between these Loti.
