Emma Peel's Lotus Elan
Just watching an old episode of "The Avengers" from 1967. Diana Rigg (Emma Peel) just zipped off into the countryside in her blue Elan. Such a cool little car! I always thought it was white...

She was going to take the place of a Redgrave or maybe it was Julie Andrews in a Broadway show. They wanted to make sure she was not taking a job that an American could have...honest...that is what he told me. Anyways...he had an Elan at the time and they spoke about it. I forget what she said..but I think she told him for the most part it was just a prop...or a car. Although she did like the Lotus.

The "D" suffix in the license plate denotes it as a 1966 car which would be an S3.

Great photos and info! Funny, I was thinking the license plate number would be a fun vanity plate. Only a true Avengers or Lotus fan would ever get it...
