I Bought Another Lotus!

As another thread says, I've been "Itching to get an Elan" for a long time. I first became interested in Elans back in the late '60s, but as a poor college student, it wasn't going to happen. By the time I could afford one, they were out of production and a used Elan seemed like a poor choice for an only car. (I bought an Alfa instead - little did I know what I was getting into with that!)

Two years ago when I bought my Elise, I thought my Lotus Lust had finally been satisfied, but it only made me more interested in finding that Elan that I couldn't have when I was younger. I looked off and on for the past two years.

Today, my Elan arrived! It is a 1970 S4 DHC. It has been seen on this site before, but now it's finally mine! Thanks to glb for putting me onto this car. Thanks to Gary for agreeing to sell it and thanks to Tony and Tim for providing Elan advice.

This car is in excellent condition, needing only some minor work in the interior. It has been lovingly restored and upgraded by the previous owner over the past 17 years. I feel fortunate to have found such an excellent example of a car I have wanted for most of my adult life.

OK, end of mushy post. I'm just so excited!

It's yellow - not a Lotus color. I have the color name and code somewhere in the pile of papers I got with the car.

Your new Elan

Great cars, fun and fragile. Mine's been a delight. Enjoy yourself.

YOu will really enjoy the Spyder chassis. Really a modern handling car with that setup. Not that the original chassis Elan wasnt fine...it was but it is just different.

I am still working on mine here. Just have not had the time to finish it.

Truly a beautiful specimen. Congrats. So does that mean the Elise becomes the daily driver?
