Awesome!

The partially restored one is a Duesenberg Model J - the green engine is the biggest tell although the firewall plate, hood ornament, wheel centers, and grille give it away as well.

Absolutely stunning cars.

Loved the vid! The rubber doughnuts made me smile...I still have them on my Fiat even after we upped the hp on the engine. I have to be very careful taking off from 1st gear now...maybe I'll have to consider the axle replacement Jay's builder, Jim, discussed...

It's fun to see the joy a Lotus brings to its driver!

1969, I'm to test drive a new Elan. Dlr says he'll drive out and I will drive back.

On a hard 1-2 shift, a donut lets go. Half-shaft whips thru car like chainsaw.

45 minutes to walk back.

When I restored my Elan in 1985, 1st thing was to go w/Spyder axle conversion.

Newer cars had pins to keep this from happening.

ELAN OWNERS:

1. If your temp gauge swings around during turns, you have air in your cooling system. Will run > cooler w/no air.

2. Again, check advance curve after engine is really hot....it may have left the building. Cannot duplicate on distr machine.
